GLB250 Prepaid Maintenance
Hello,
First time MB owner and I'm excited about my 2021 GLB purchase.
What prices have people been getting for their prepaid maintenance package? I've been doing some reading and it seems some are recommending to do the first 1yr/10K service out of pocket, then by a 3 pack for the next 3 service. But other places I've read is that if I get a good deal on 4yr/40K, I should jump on it.
Also, I've seen some contacts for places to call/email to get best quote, any recent experience from anyone with great price to share?
Thanks in advance!

Price depends on where you live. I got the 3-year package for my GLB and 4-year for my AMG. You can also check out other MB dealers and buy form them (not necessarily where you bought your car from).

Hey! Newbie here. I'm a first time MB owner and am having fun with my GLB too. The dealer quoted $1,350 cash price for three services but broke it down to $25 per month and added it to my car payment for a discounted cost of $875 for prepayment. I save money and feel like I'm getting 'free' service when I visit in 365 days. Not sure if this is the best deal out there but it worked for me! Have fun with your car!

The dealership is trying to sell me the 4 year/40k miles maintenance package for $2xxx.
When I enquired outside, I heard the A service only costs $250 and the B service costs $500 for GLB 250.
Does that mean I was made to overpay for the plan?
Can anyone share how much you paid for the prepaid maintenance?

See below quote I got from Jeff Jackson (his contact also below). I ended up buying PPM 4/40 and ELW 7/75, no tax assuming you're not in KY. Jeff was super patient with all my questions and easy to work with. This was early Feb. when I purchased it, so it has been about 9 months, maybe the price has shifted a bit. There were a lot older posts with other names if you look hard enough in MBWorld forums, but some of the contacts are out-of-date or they just don't respond anymore. Jeff was my go-to after I reached out to a couple dealers. Also note that PPM and ELW are the only ones you can purchase from any MB dealer outside of your dealer. If you want like tire protection or any of those other stuff, you have to buy them directly from your dealer FYI.
PPM
3/30 $1110
4/40 $1520
ELW
6/75 $1650
7/75 $1950
7/100 $2950

Thank you @louiechewy for sharing the details. This is really helpful.
By any chance do you know if I am legally allowed to cancel the (overpriced) plan from my current dealer? I just signed the deal, but they are yet to deliver me the car.

If you purchased the ELW, you have 60 days to cancel assuming no claims have been filed.
On PPM, I read my contract, it says the below. Unless you are in California, then CA State law provides 60 days for cancellation.
Technically, your coverage on ELW and PPM does not begin until the Date of Delivery. You might be able to leverage 7.2 below if it applies to you too.
7. CANCELLATION
7.1. Subject to any specific exclusions or limitations applicable under State
law, THIS AGREEMENT CANNOT BE CANCELLED BY THE
PURCHASER AND IS NON-REFUNDABLE.
7.2. If you have not paid for this Agreement in full and a lien is outstanding
against the Vehicle and/or this Agreement itself, any permitted
cancellation refund under State law will be made payable to the
Lienholder/Lessor.
7.3. Should the Vehicle be repossessed, any cancellation rights hereunder
shall transfer to the Lienholder/Lessor as its interest may appear, and
the Selling Dealer, or any Authorized Mercedes-Benz Dealer, agrees to
effect cancellation at such Lienholder’s/Lessor’s request only pursuant
to the terms of cancellation as applicable.

2022 GLB 35 with 1,400 miles, first service A due 8/30/2023 (10,000 miles or 1 year).
PPM
4 years = $2,470
ELW
7 years, 100,000 miles = $4,300
7 years, 75,000 miles = $3,150
Any thoughts if the PPM is worth it? I'm doing the ELW 7 years, 100k miles for sure.
Also - is the PPM and ELW negotiable?

Prepaid maintenance on the dealer websites around Houston is $1500-$1800 for 4 years. It saves a bit over 2x Service A + 2x Service B at dealer walk in prices.
Extended Warranty is very negotiable. Call around and search this forum for out of town dealers selling.
Normally I do would service myself but my shop is being used for storage and I got PPM for $1800 (I think). One caution, though, if you have multiple dealer choices, go to the one whose service you trust most.

Get a quote from out of state dealer. Person listed in post #5 appears a few times on this forum. With quote in hand go to local dealer and ask them to match the price.

Jeff Jackson at Mercedes Benz of Louisville will probably match any quote. They seem to be in the business of selling prepaid maintenance contracts and extended warranties.
I think I’ve seen in other posts that your GLB is a 2024. If it is a mild hybrid, the costs could be higher.
