Wired to Wireless CarPlay for GLB 2020/2021?
Joining the MB wagon for the 1st time. I got a GLB 2021 and I was wondering if anyone here is using the CarPlay2Air adapter or the CarlinKit 2.0 and if it is working fine with the MBUX? I'm planning to get the CarlinKit 2.0 through Amazon but wanted to check first. I was told by the CarPlay2Air support that it will work with GLB250 2020/2021 models... but for selling you the adapter they will say yes to everything.
Thanks.

PROS:
1) Good to have a Wireless connection automatically as soon as you get in the car rather than mingling with your cables.
2) Yes it cuts the wire clutters and keeps your Cabin more clean and unmessy.
3) The device is so small that it just fits in the inner side of the wall (place where you keep your mobile phone in the centre below your AC Switches)
CONS:
1) Takes a minute or two sometimes to Initialise and establish a connection
2) Since your Battery drains faster with Maps, if you connect your phone to the Cable/Wireless Charger it heats the phone like hell
3) Once your phone heats up, the Carplay2Air connection is dropped and your phone as well as car display gets frozen making you to stop at next junction if you were dependent on the maps :-) (and driving alone)
4) Do not consider it to be a foolproof wireless setup! although i use the latest MBUX version for best Bluetooth connection and latest iPhone to connect but both surrender sometimes to the heat generated.
5) Its upto Carplay and the connection if they want to resume the songs that was getting played just before you took that call with your Wife (and now you want to forget that discussion) ;-)
All in all.. take the decision considering the fact that "there might be some reason why Wireless Apple CarPlay is not standard in all cars even today!.. may be thats still not a perfect and bugfree solution???"
For me the dongle is fine to use till the time its working.
My 2 cents!

I was wondering which adapter did you use?
The unit itself is surprisingly small and with a bit of creativity, you could possibly hide it (maybe under a wireless charger?). I made no updates to the units and it worked right out of the box. Turning off the car and getting back in after running errands works fine too.
Notes
The USB-C port on the module is the one that goes to the USB port of the head unit. I'm unsure if anyone else has USB-C on their vehicles, but I would suggest investing in USB-C male-to-male wires. Moreover, a conventional "charging" wire won't cut it. A traditional charging cable lacks wires a sync or data cable has. Usually, your phone cables are both sync and charge. At the moment, I'm using a spare thunderbolt 3 cable (USB-C) to make the connection between the module to the head unit.
Moreover, the larger USB-A connector that's situated on the bottom of the module is used for connecting your phone to update the firmware. I'm unsure if WiFi is required as the instructions say to turn on WiFi after connection via Bluetooth.

P.S., I'll post pictures later, or if anyone requests it.

I have some right angle USB C adapters so and a flat wire coming in so I could make it look cleaner.
My idea is to retrofit a wireless charger (any flat one) and 3D print a bracket that would fit snug in the tray with the Carlinkit module sitting below it. I think I should be able to snake the wire to the center console storage to supply power to the wireless charger. I’ll update once I find a solution.
In my head.. why have wireless car play when you’re going to charge with a wire anyway. So hopefully I can start taking measurements. If any, I’ll just use the cigarette lighter as a power source for the wireless charger.
Here are some pics of the product.

I'm taking my car for service in two weeks and I'll ask them to check on it but just want to see if others are having kind of the same issue.
Thanks and Happy 2022 Family.

if it’s the flimsy cable from Apple, I suspect the neck of cable by the base of the connector could be defective… I would try using a different cable though before bringing it up to the service
