Question 2020 GLB 250 - Apple Car Play port

Hello,

Question - the media usb-c port is on the center console below the open cubby space. When I plug a usb-c cable into it the vehicle nor my phone make notice of the connection. I've also tried a different cable to an android phone, still doesn't work.

I wanted to see what other thing I could try or if others have had this issue?

Yes, we had the same issue on our GLB. Did the following, but none made a difference:

1. Replaced cable
2. Software updates to iPhone, both running iOS 14
3. Tried both iPhone 11 and 12 Pro

In each case, the connection worked great when the car was started for the first time the day. However, the MBUX and iPhone would take forever to “shake hands” after that. Sometimes, I would have to disconnect and reconnect the cable up to five times before it would be successful. Then, sometimes it wouldn’t connect at all. This seems to be an issue with MBUX and not the phone or cable.

Did you ever figure this out? I just bought the GLB and I’m having the same problem.

I had the exact same issue, dealership replaced the usb port and all is well again. I'll probably buy a wireless carplay adapter to avoid damaging the port
