Type of gasoline

Has anyone tried using regular gas instead of premium. Have always put in premium however some friend uses regular and premium , switching back and forth. He reports that he doesn’t seem to be able to feel any difference.

I wouldn’t recommend putting Regular. It might void your warranty if something with the engine goes wrong and all they have to do is test the gasoline grade you have. Any adverse impact likely won’t manifest until longer term, I doubt you’ll see any short term difference. You’re already spending more than average American on a car, why go cheap on gas?

I agree . I’ve always put the recommended fuel in my tank. It is recommended for a reason. Lesser octane than recommended translates to less performance and lower gas mileage per gallon.

On the bright side, I found that premium gas GLB with 2L Turbo is 50% more efficient than our regular gas CR-V with 1.5L Turbo. My guess that GLB has more torque at lower RPM due to a high compression engine and you end up not flooring the gas pedal.

It'll run on regular but the computer will adjust things and you'll get poorer mileage and less power and the computer will remember that if anything goes bad in the engine. I don't think anything will but you bought a premium car that the factory says requires premium gas.

I think I saw a post where someone said it was their crank sensor. It's on the front of the block and not sure if this may lend itself to this issue.
