I was actually just thinking the same thing as I looked up the dimensions & read that it's comparable to the Q5.. yeah doesn't really make sense I agree! If my husband had stuck with a sedan, I would've gotten this size suv but now I really don't need it.. ok phew one less decision now LOL thx
I see what u r saying!! So it has just the one little screen & all those buttons to press instead... still touch screen though right? do u think the gla & GLB interior is more user friendly & easier to use?? or are the buttons simpler? thx again
Hmmm, you are looking at the prefacelift but no even the facelift one doesn't have a touch screen, it does have a larger screen (if you option it though, yes ... I know, everything requires an option on a MB) and you can option the digital instrument cluster display.
As for what is more friendly to use, to be honest they are rather similar, they both have the previous gen MBUX (the new C-Class and S-Class gets MBUX 2.0)

Yeah I was hoping too but they aren't budging & I have yet to find any other cars locally.. agree thx! it just seems like there's a big shortage of cars now (at least GLA's) though they have a GLB on the lot which has a lot of options (no navigation) & they said that would be MSRP too sigh
I have a GLB AMG35- Iridium Silver and love the color- These and I assume the GLA are not that easy to find in the US with the options that you want We had to drive to Columbia Missouri to pick up the one with all the options we liked, as Chicago IL didn't have anything close by. Paid MSRP as well, but the MB dealer gave us $1,500 more for our Macan GTS than what we originally paid for it.... It's our first Mercedes and love it so far-- Good luck with your new MB, whichever one you decide on.

Great to know u love the color thx :-) exactly; oh wow glad u were able to get one..sorry u had to drive so far. at least u got more $ for your car. Great to know thx so much :-)
Ok so I’m very torn but leaning towards GLA... ran out of time & never drive GLC unfortunately.... GLB def felt longer than GLA which it is but I’d prob get used to it. Almost bought GLB off lot but it didn’t have the navigation... had everything else I wanted. Going to have the silver GLA shipped from port bc i didn’t have to pay deposit & it has all the features i want except the black leather interior, & heated steering wheel. I guess I’ll see what i think when it comes in? Def more space in back of GLB but GLA has a bigger back seat than my Lexus. Both felt a tad bumpy at times? Will def have to get used to the gear shift behind steering wheel & all the gadgets. The parking package on GLB is very cool...this is sooo tough!

Hmmm, no worries since you mentioned you don't want a Q5 competitor given you have a Q5, it isn't a problem not test driving the GLC. You made the right decision to focus on only the cars you are most likely to buy.
Hmmm, so navigation is a must have for you? I see. Keep looking then, eventually you will find one with it. As for the bumpiness it might have to do with the run-flats tires that the car came with? That is at least true here in Canada (that it comes with run-flats) but it might also be true for USA. If you look at the tires, and it says MOE (Mercedes-Original Extended) then it has run-flat tires, the E is their way of saying it has run-flat technology. Another thing that might contribute to that ride quality would be the size of the wheels, the smaller the less bumpy but won't look as nice but are less susceptible to potholes.
For the parking package, same goes with DISTRONIC I talked about earlier, if you are comfortable about the car making decisions for you and that you get used to it, then it makes sense but if you are worried that the sensors might fail when parking then I wouldn't stress about not having this option.

Reason: Fixed some typos

True good point again about the GLC & our Q5.... at first, I didn't think the no navigation would be a big deal but in thinking about it, my lexus has it so I'm used to having it & not having to plug my phone in (though I guess that's not a huge deal) LOL! But yes I guess it would also be nice to have the 360 camera.. it's just so hard to get the whole picture without building my own it seems. Yes I believe it was the run-flat tires..? that's great to know thx.
I def wouldn't need the parking package on the GLA since it's so small, but I thought it would be nice to have as a back up on the GLB since bigger if I have to squeeze into a parallel parking spot LOL tho I was able to parallel it myself pretty easily. The GLB had the parking whereas the GLA coming has the navigation & drive assist Lite.

Honestly, you don't want to have buyer's remorse so I guess it is safer if you find the one with both of those options you want. So, keep looking : )

yes great point thx! The silver GLA may end up being the one (even though I'm paying extra for black leather seats) but it has the other packages & I can get over the heated steering wheel since I don't have it now.. but I'll keep u posted! THX AGAIN!!!!!!

If you prefer the ride of the conventional radial tires, the dealer can replace the run flats. But if you do that, I suggest getting a tool kit, a jack, and a tire sealant kit with compressor to re-inflate a flat. The cars with run flat tires delete those items and there is no option (as far as I know) for a spare of any kind on the GLA or GLB. Also be sure that the dealer applies a credit for the difference in the cost of the run flats and the conventional radials.

That is a great idea! Hopefully that works out for op, I am just unsure if they are willing to do that because in Canada, they have excuses like "oh, it is tied to the VIN" or that they can't honour certain warranties if they replace different parts that didn't come with that particular vehicle. If OP gets the tire and rim protection package, they will use that as an excuse as well. (although, sounds like a bad excuse because they are first party tires and rims) So although a brilliant suggestion, please proceed with caution unless it is in writing that it wouldn't affect the car warranty or any insurance packages (like the tire and rim protection package).
As for the run-flat... I don't know, personally (your mileage may vary) I have more blowout issues over conventional tires because of the stiffer sidewalls so for me personally, the run-flats are causing the tire issues which could had been avoided if it was fitted with non-RFT in the first place. That being said, 19 inch C43 wheels are known to bent and crack so can't completely blame the run-flats.
For those who actually find the run-flats useful and saved them from having to call a tow truck, I am glad to hear that, but it didn't work out for me, ymmv of course : )

Looks like a well optioned car, it does seem to have augmented reality so that is good, it is not a must have option but pretty cool feature to have. Looks like it has heated front seats so that is not a feature you will miss from your Lexus.
Don't worry about the wireless charger, I am not sure if you have an iPhone Pro Max because from what I heard, it does not fit (so you wouldn't be able to use it even if you had that feature)
As for the garage door opener, it is not a must have but if you like seamless integration I understand why you want it but otherwise I don't think of it as a deal breaker, your remotes that came with your garage door opener will work just fine.
My IPhone 12 Pro Max fits just fine, and charges fine, in the wireless charger. That said, it’s not a must have option - if you plan to use CarPlay, it’ll be getting charged (probably faster) via the cable anyway.

I see thanks for correcting me. I did hear some newer MB owners (including some of my friends) have problem with fitting their phone in the wireless charging slot.. come to think of it I didn't ask them if they had a case on.

Mine is in a case, but it’s a pretty slim one. There isn’t much extra space width-wise, so I could see some cases making it too wide to fit. Length-wise, there’s plenty of room to spare though.
