The heated steering wheel would've been nice but I don't have it now so hopefully I won't miss it... I appreciate u talking this all through with me so much!
No problem. After saving you money, time to start making you spend money xD... For leather seats, I am not sure if you had some in your Lexus if so you would know how often you need to condition them. If you didn't, grab automotive leather conditioner from an auto parts store and save it for later, you will need it. If your winters aren't cold then you won't need heated steering wheel, it is a must have option here in Canada though. No problem, happy to chat about cars. I can go on and on when talking about Mercedes and cars in general xD. Always happy to help people.
If you get MBTEX (faux leather, you don't have to condition it, just give it good wipe down and it will look just as new even years down the road)

yes I’ve actually contacted several dealerships all over but none of them say they will negotiate bc of the shortage. In fact, i have found their dealership fees to be higher 😡 i did lose a digital white gla from another dealership an hour away but they too said they couldn’t negotiate.. 😢
Sorry to hear that, I guess your best option would be the car you listed above and the other car you listed a post above.

Likewise, I enjoy the chat with you as well and I am glad that you found some of the information I provided useful. Yes, leather needs to be taken care of from time to time.

I see, hmmm then perhaps you should find a car with heated steering wheel... if not worse case you can direct the vents to blow directly to the steering wheel to help out during the cold days.

SO useful thank u again! hmm yeah I wonder if the mountain gray GLA with the heated steering wheel is better than the silver then but the gray doesn't have the navigation :-( or driver assistance... so hard to get the whole picture unfortunately which forces me to choose but as u see, I'm a terrible decision maker ha! but great idea to direct the heat vents if all else fails!!

I wouldn't say you are one and to be honest it is good to be indecisive. After all, a car purchase isn't simply going to a grocery store to buy groceries. You want to make sure there is no buyer's remorse. As automotive purchase is the 2nd most expensive purchase right after real estate. Decisions can't be taken lightly.

SO true! & that makes me feel better! My husband is sick of me talking about it so much lol! He decided on his audi really fast but to be fair, his ten year old BMW 5 series needed $10,000 worth of work somehow so he didn't have the luxury of time unfortunately & he decided to lease for 1st time so I think that makes it easier to decide than purchasing.

I am not sure if you have a local car detailer you trust but if you are going to keep your car for a while, I suggest bringing it to them to have the car waxed every couple of months, or if you want, you could pay more to have PPF (paint protection film applied) but then to be honest the latter is expensive so it might not be justified.
Yup after helping you save money from not getting options I believe that you won't find a use for, I am asking you to spend those savings all on car caring products, I am sorry but being a car enthusiast, I tend to treat my car better than the average car owners. So if you find what I recommend being unnecessary, please just ignore me lol. On a side note, Mercedes paint is pretty robust and high quality, you really don't have to follow my recommendations lol.

I see, ya just explain it to him that you want a car you don't want to regret purchasing and is happy down the road, many smiles per miles. I am sure he will eventually understand.

HA HA no I think that's awesome & I appreciate you sharing it all with me!! I DEF need to take better care of my car & now that it will be new & a Mercedes, hopefully I'll have more incentive. I wish I had a car detailer.. my husband wanted to get his BMW detailed but the he found out how much work it needed so he never did & we've never done that but prob should. I happen to LOVE the color of my lexus (glacier frost mica) a really pretty irredescent white but I know it was hard to match up the paint when I got some dings so I never bothered sadly. But it still looks amazing for 15 years

I am not surprised that you like that colour so much, it looks nice on pictures on Google and in person might be even better. Hmmm, I don't really think any colour that Mercedes offers on the GLA comes close to the colour, but on the bright side, you want to a change so getting a different colour makes sense. To be honest, you can always put the detailing stuff aside for now and focus solely on picking the car as speced as the way you wanted, those can wait : ). Dings can be repaired easily if it isn't bad. The worse thing that can happen to a car is rust, once it happens it spreads so as long as there is no rust you wouldn't really have a problem.
You can always wrap the colour with a different colour if you happen to want a custom colour, although I think you would agree that choosing the right colour at the beginning is the better way to go.

Yes it's gorgeous in person.. From what I've seen online, maybe the digital white is close? But I've never seen it in person & I missed out on a digital white GLA with beige interior loaded with all the options sadly :-( The dealership (about an hour away from here) was holding it for me but as I was filling out the disclosure form, someone gave a deposit.. :-( so that's why I thought the GLA wasn't meant to be & started considering the GLB LOL! but Yes I agree, I did want a different color so that it looks like I got a new car LOL so that was the one thing that wasn't ideal about the car. Great to know about the dings & rust.. yes I'll focus on selecting first but I'm glad I know about the other stuff for future...

I shouldn't drive the GLC at this point to compare right? LOL I told u I was bad at this... it's even bigger dimensions than the GLB so I'm thinking it wouldn't make sense

No worries, ask away! The GLB is sub-compact and GLC is compact while GLE is mid-size.

However, you will find more headroom in the GLB compared to the GLC even though the GLC is slightly bigger than the GLB. This is due to the boxy nature of the GLB. Another thing is, if you like screens or you like a more conventional look. The current GLC doesn't have the latest Mercedes design language which is on the new W206 C-Class. The last gen W205 C-Class came out as model year 2015 in 2014, while as the GLC came out as MY16 in 2015. Mercedes typically facelifts (mild-refresh) half way in the life-cycle and completely redesigns the car every 7 years (or less). The new generation for X254 (2023 GLC is due soon), the current gen is X253. I am not sure if you like the current GLC's interior design, it is matter of preference. If you like buttons over screens, you would love it. As for exterior, not sure you would like it either.

wow u really are a total expert!!!! Yeah I guess it wouldn't make sense for me to get compact the over sub-compact.. I'm surprised GLB is categorized as sub compact & not compact but I guess b/c it's the same width as the gla. Interesting & good to know.. ok so yeah I guess I shouldn't complicate things with the GLC at this time then..

lol I am no expert compared to many other members here, I just like to research about Mercedes and am passionate about this brand. I mean I do like cars after all.
GLB is based on the A-Class platform (MFA2) hence why it is classified as sub-compact although MB themselves advertise it as simply compact. Although I do too agree it being a compact more than sub-compact.
Honestly, you could add GLC on your shopping list if you like the exterior and interior design of the GLC, then why not? : )

I'm clearly clueless & have so much to learn so this is so great for u to teach me.. yeah maybe I'll check it out tho it may feel even bigger to me to drive since it's wider & longer than GLB

I see what u r saying!! So it has just the one little screen & all those buttons to press instead... still touch screen though right? do u think the gla & GLB interior is more user friendly & easier to use?? or are the buttons simpler? thx again

You can totally check it out of course, I think they have more stock on that car being pretty much end of generation model but since you did tell me you have a Q5 I wonder if it really is a good idea to get another Q5 equivalent (a GLC)
