Interior and Exterior Protection
I finally picked up my 2022 GLB recently after almost a year of waiting for it…woohoo. I love my car. However, during financing, the dealership informed me that the Interior Exterior Protection plan was a required cost and they added it to the cost of the car. The kicker here is that they didn’t itemize the cost on the billing invoice and I was not provided details of what the plan includes. On Mercedes Benz website, it looks like it’s an optional plan. I contacted corporate about this and was told that it’s not a required purchase, but that dealerships are independently owned and they can operate as they choose. I requested in an email to the dealership that they send me details of the plan, including the cost.
While I wait on their response, anyone experience this? I am a little uneasy because it’s one thing to say a fee/charge is required, but to not itemize the charge on the invoice or provide details of the plan is another. Plus how am I to know that the dealership will honor any warranty claim I may have in the future? I did purchase the prepaid maintenance plan, which was itemized on the billing invoice and I was provided documentation of the plan at purchase. Thanks!
