INTERIOR

My 2021 GLB has the MB-Tex interior, beige color. I was wondering what you are using for a cleaner and a conditioner to keep the seats maintained properly.
My other car and previous vehicles have had leather seats and I used leather treatments. Your thoughts on using these on the MB-Tex.
Other recommendations?

We have had 2 Benzes with MB Tex beige interiors. 2015 GLK350-155,000 miles & 2013 C250-97,000 miles. When the seats need a little cleaning, like when the blue from new jeans gets on them, we used mild detergent and water on a micro fiber cloth. Nothing else. They’re easier to clean than leather and, to our surprise, quite durable. The GLK showed some minor wear and the C Class still looks new. Just don’t use anything containing a solvent (NPA, cellosolve, etc), ammonia (window cleaner), or other harsh chemicals (Formula 409, etc). Those will leach the plasticizer and lead to cracking. If exposed to a lot of continuous sun, maybe some of the non-shiny Armor All applied to a rag lightly and wiped on, but we live in 100 degree summer Texas and never used it.

Thanks for your response. Looking at the manual earlier, it calls it imitation leather, not MB-Tex. Also lists DYNAMICA.

I assume this is similar to MB-Tex. The procedure shows 1% soapy water but for some reason says NO microfiber cloth.

Thanks for bringing my attention to the owner's manual. All our manuals say essentially the same thing: no microfiber. We never looked.
The blue from new jeans that are not stonewashed takes a few washings before it won't try to transfer to the car seats. Years ago we had a white leather interior from which it could never be removed. It also trnasfered to the MB-Tex in the GLK. It would not come off until we used the microfiber which removed it with the mild soap. It didn't look like anything was damaged, but to be on the safe side, stick to a cotton cloth.
Our GLB has black interior, so I doubt anything other than a damp rag ever be used on it.
I still like the look and feel of leather, but the MB-Tex is actually showing less wear. We put so many miles on our cars so fast that we never keep them long enough to see how it compares to leather over time.

I don't understand the reasoning for no microfiber. I have some of the standard type and some that are super soft almost like cotton *****.

I use these for detailing the paint with detail spray. If you have Dollar Tree stores in your area they are only $1.25 each. $7.25 on Amazon. Drivers choice 16"x20"

I have the MB Tex in 2 cars. I use Chemical Guys Nonsense and microfiber. Works just fine. I didn't like the MB Tex when I first got it, but my 2014 C63 has it and it's held up better than the real leather I had in the C55.
