2023 GLB 250 Going up driveway at an angle creates rubbing noises.

Whenever I go up an entrance to a parking lot or driveway at an angle the car seems to create a lot of rubbing noises like its coming from the rear doors. It feels like the frame is twisting which I feel is making the noise. Am I expecting too much for the car to be dead silent and solid like my previous 2020 E350?

Don’t know exactly what you’re hearing, but we have a driveway with a 6% grade and don’t hear any noises at all. We also have been in many multi level parking lots and don’t hear anything unusual. It’s not as quiet as my W211 E Class was, but it was quieter than my W204 C Class until I added extra insulation and low noise tires.

Maybe I need to take it in, it sounds like the door frame seals are rubbing against each other.

Is the parking lot slab that you are driving on has epoxy coated paint? Is the squeaking mostly when you turn or is it louder when tires are wet from rain? If yes, then the noise is most likely coming from interaction between the tires and painted slab. Most modern cars have unibody construction vs. cab sitting on the chassis like a truck, so getting the frame twisted sufficiently to produce seal rubbing noise is very unlikely.

I know for sure it's not the tires, it happens on concrete or asphalt. Probably has something to do with this car being made in mexico

It could be suspension. Try rocking the car on one side then the other, to see if you can replicate the noise.

That’s a thought, but a 2022 should still be under new vehicle warranty. The dealer is better equipped to do things like that than most people. But some dealers are more accommodating than others. Try to get the service advisor (a tech would be better, but …) into the GLB to hear the noise.
A “that’s normal” answer isn’t really acceptable. Just today I had our 2021 out on some acreage where we have a construction project. Had to climb some 3-4 foot moguls (30% grade on tilt meter) to get in and avoid the mud. The rest of the property is mildly rough native terrain. I listened carefully because of this thread. No unusual rubbing or scraping noises.

Thanks for the replies, looks like I might have to take it in. We also have a 2023 Mazda CX-5 that I drive through the same areas with no noise.

My sis-in-law has a CX-7 and our GLB250 is much quieter under all conditions. But it’s a 10 yo car, so maybe not a good comparison.

I know exactly what OP is taking about. I have at times experienced such sounds in the 35 and have been inclined to interpret them just as they have described but at the same time it doesn't make much sense since my driveway, inclined and twisted dorsnt cause the said sounds and makes the 4th wheel airborne giving the impression that the chassis is quite stiff.

Take it in OP.

I had the same thing. Lube the all the door seals with car detailer or the lube of your choice. Body twists ever so slightly.

Give it a try.
