Spare tire question for GLB

I currently own a 2021 GLB with the 3rd row option seat. I also have the 10 spoke 19" wheel option. Obviously, there is no room to add a spare tire under the rear cargo cover.

I'm not a fan of the extended mobility tires.

I'm thinking about buying a used 2023 GLB, CPO vehicle at my dealership. It doesn't have the 3rd row option but has the same 19" wheel option. So, is adding a temporary spare possible? I hope those who have real world experience doing this can answer some of my questions.

1. What temporary spare tire is available to match the 19" tire diameter and where did you buy it?

2. Will the tire fit under the rear cargo area floor panel?
3. Will the panel sit flat in the upper level position?
4. Most importantly, how did you secure the tire to keep it from moving around?

Appreciate any feedback from those who have dealt with this issue. Thanks

I bought the spare tire from (I haven't used it yet):
https://modernspare.com/product/2019...e-kit-options/

I lowered the cargo area and made a small compartment with a wood board from home depot (cabinet cover maybe). Here is how it looks without the wood addition (tire doesn't move, but wood moves a little, not the perfect size match):

I have a subwoofer in the spare tire location so I don't know if the spare fits there. The other option is getting a small spare from a GLK (same tire size) or full size glb tire from a junk yard eg sold in ebay.

Thanks for your input. I prefer to mount the tire under the cargo cover if there is enough room. The mini spare specs shown in the link, show it to be 6.1 inches tall laying flat. Can anyone verify what the height under the cargo cover is? Thanks

I have 2023 GLB and use a mini spare. It is the same spare used on 2006-2016 MB ML350/GLE400. The size is T155/90D18 OEM and fits perfectly. The outside diameter supports my stock 19" wheels and even the lug bolts fit perfectly. I bought the tire/wheel off of eBay for about $100.00 and it was like new, never used. It will not fit under the cargo top as it is about 1/2" too high. I got a tire bag and only carry this spare on long trips. I just keep an inflator and a can of slime just in case. That being said the last time I got a flat was about 20 years ago from a nail but I have had side wall ruptures from pot holes twice in the last 6 years. The nice thing about the stock run flat tires is they have a much thicker side wall which is much better to withstand pot holes.j

10-4. FYI, I traded my 2021 GLB for a 2022 GLC 300. It came with the optional spare tire.
