GLB 250 trunk floor issues
We’re 1 month in on a new GLB and something isn’t right with the trunk floor. It’s bowed in the middle and very bouncy. The carpet that is glued to the floor is separating and causing a crease. Basically, I feel that If I sit in the trunk the floor will snap in half. I’ve never owned a vehicle where I’m scared to put things in the trunk because the floor is flimsy.
Should there be support under the load floor? Is this normal? Do I have a bad load floor that will need to be warrantied?

Thank you Vladimir - I stopped by a dealer (without the Mercedes) and looked at a couple floor models and the floors were rather solid. Knowing how it should be now, I'm pretty sure mine is damaged or defective. It will be going in for warranty.

It's probably broken down the center. Mine is like that. The cover doesn't seem to be able to handle much weight. I haven't tried asking the dealer about to see if it's covered by warranty (I'm assuming it isn't, but you never know). I think it cost around $180 on one of those MB dealer sites.

2022 GLB 250 Loading floor.
Hmm. It's actually $160 (part number 167-680-05-00-9H42) for me (2022 GLB 250). The previous year's version is $130 (part number 247-680-99-01-9E07) .

I have been lucky/privileged enough to own a number of different MBs over the years. Most recently almost exclusively SUVs (and I have had 2 GLs, 2 GLEs, a GLC and now a GLB).
I will say that in general the GLB quality is surprisingly sub-standard compared to my other vehicles. It just feels like they left typically well-engineered features and components out of the vehicle - as if on purpose...most of it wouldn't save a lot of production costs.
I like my GLB, but I understand when people say it's a bit less than other MB models (and I'm not comparing against the S-class even).
All that said, I agree that there seems to be lack of support in the middle of the trunk deck (the GLC had way more). And in my 2024, there's very little protection to the battery housed in there...I'm a little worried storing anything metal in there could cause a spark/arc. Also, I have moved two kids from college already with the GLB and not experienced a broken deck/lid like that, so maybe just a bad break for you (pun intended).
Get it replaced under warranty, for sure.

After you get it replaced, keep it on the lower level. There should be some more support for it in the middle on the lower level vs it floating on the higher level.
And for those who don't know, the tray can go about 2 inches lower to give you more storage space.

How? It fits squarely and flush when it's at the level of the rear bumper.

I'll say you're welcome in advance

True. I've been keeping it in the upper level, mainly because i had been using the space as a mini trunk, but this is good advice.

Mine is being covered by warranty. The dealer ordered a replacement, and apparently its flying in from Germany - but it has been a month now and I'm still waiting. But I'm confident it will be replaced, even though its annoying in the meantime.
I didn't realize the trunk floor could be lowered - thanks for the info!

Also keep in mind that the "carpet" is reversible and has a tacky material on the other side, helps stuff from sliding around. Cheers.

Glad to report that the dealer replaced mine for free. They called it a goodwill (or good faith) service as opposed to it being covered by warranty. The new one seems to fit in a little tighter than my old one when I placed it the lower level, where it will stay from now on.
