It is really easy and only took 5 minutes to replace the filter. All you need is T20 Torx bit, to loosen 4 screws.
Purchased Mann-Filter Model C28 034 on ebay for $35. It is exact same filter that MB uses as OEM. Ebay, Amazon, Parts Geek and other sites sell it around $35-$40.

This is for engine air filter not cabin air filter. You can search youtube for cabin filter replacement videos. Not complicated process. The cabin filter is below glove compartment.
