Spacesaver?

Spacesaver?
Hi. I am looking at buying a GLB but was wondering if I can get a spacesaver. My dealer told me I can't buy one but it's in the handbook. Did Merc ever sell them or were they a factory option? Any ideas? Thanks.

Are you referring to the collapsible spare tire? Or to the fully inflated compact spare (a.k.a. donut spare in the U.S.)?
The collapsible spare was an option until 2015 on the GLK. The compact spares were phased out between 2013-2015 in favor of MOE tires. Mercedes restricted compact spares to having the same diameter as the service wheel/tire combination specified for the vehicle. The undersized “mini” spare was never approved for use by Mercedes.

Ah right ok. I was referring to the very narrow 155ish proper tyre that is/was common in the UK. Looks like I'll have to find another solution then. Maybe the inflatable one was what I was thinking of, maybe full sized spare then 🤷 thanks

If you can find the 155/165 width tire and rim with the right diameter, load rating, and clears the brake calipers, that would work well. A full size spare is great, but it takes up much of the useable room in the back of the GLB.
Others have mentioned Modern Spare. They make a wheel/tire combination specifically for Mercedes GLB that has full roadway speed capability and no distance limits. Not inexpensive, but excellent option if you don’t have MOE tires.
