Race Start Initial Delay

On my 2024 GLB35, when using the Race Start feature (foot on brake, accelerator to the floor), there is a short delay (1/2 sec. or so) in launch which pretty much defeats the Race Start feature. It seems quicker to just mash the throttle. Do any other 35 owners experience this unfortunate delay?

Most cars have a delay when doing launch control. The one on the GLB isn't even the worst. Just time your launch if you're racing against someone.

Probably so. The race start on my CLS63S was instantaneous -- I could consistently turn 11.8 sec. quarter miles.

But that's a torque converter automatic. When you press the accelerator and the brake simultaneously, you put load on the engine and you're basically holding the car back with the brake pedal.
In a dual clutch, the clutches don't engage until you let your foot off the brake pedal to prevent clutch burn. Some cars can do this quicker (like Porsches), most take a few tenths to engage. If you watch drag racing channels you can see that sometimes the driver has to let off the brake a full second before the race starts in order not to lose time.
