Coolant Temperture Gauges

I originally had a low coolant warning on dashboard. Checked level and it needed about a cup full. When warmed up I set of coolant level indicators read correct around 90. But the gauge under the Engine settings see photos is around 30

Well back to original problem of low coolant message. As I said I've topped the reservoir up with about a cup full of water. I then checked the oil filler cap and there is traces of "mayo" on the inside. This could be condensation but I'll keep an eye on it. By the way I have the 1.3l engine (M282)

Tried a gas analyser test in the expansion tank and liquid stayed blue so doesnt appear to be emission gas in water
Oil cap has some "mayo" in the cap but could this be condensation? Note water temp gauge is normal at 90
