MB-Tex dashboard & Interior Package pricing

I went to mbusa.com to "build" and price my GLC. I wanted leather so it forced me to add the Interior package ($1850) and the MB-Tex dashboard ($650), total ($2500). No problem.

Then I took the printed out "build" ($58,235) to my dealer and he entered it into the official order entry computer and it priced it differently. The Interior Package was priced @ $2500 and the required MB-Tex dash was $650 for a total of $3150. The dealer of course, said his computer was right and mbusa was wrong.

Has anyone out there who has taken delivery of a GLC with interior package notice how it was priced on the window sticker? Total of $2500 or $3150.

Thanks

Al

You can't just add leather and stitched dash. You have to also include the Premium Package, so your dealer is likely giving you accurate information.

The mbusa web tool will never be able to show all "capatibility"

A"Compatible" NetStar configuration can look like this: P1 + Blind Spot + Rearview Camera + Interior Package + Leather + MB Tex Dash + Exclusive Interior (netstar) + Wheel Choice + Wood Choice

Leather

The dealer is not always right. When I first took my build to the dealer, even the sales manager thought that Nappa leather was $3950 extra. I pointed out that it was $1450 plus the $2500 interior package and he agreed. For a while the interior package on the build site was $2500, but that was when it included the MB-Tex dash. Now it is back to $1850, but I would not count on the salesman making the distinction. My car is not due until January. I will update when I see the sticker.

I understand that several forum member's are rightfully a bit confused - from what I see in general fall into one of three reasons:

1) mbusa "build tool" is a excellent way to explore colors/options - but the NetStar configuration tool is the true "build" tool

2) the GLC packages/options are a bit different/distinctive from what MB dealer salespeople have been more familiar with on other prior models and other current models

3) For those that checked - or built/ordered - GLC's prior to the final pricing - there the factory as a line item on ALL build specs for ALL MB models state "Specifications and Pricing Subject to Change Without Prior Notice" - and that means there have been running changes to packages, options, and pricing that NEITHER the customer or the dealer received prior notice.

The good news is pricing is now finalized - the on-the-fly-into-production-to-initial-US delivery has been finally accomplished - not without Federal and other headaches.

1) Clarification - there is NO Nappa leather option for the GLC - so I don't know where that comment is from - and your salesman can email you copy of the final build sheet with pricing which will be exactly the same as the sticker:

MB-Tex: Black, Silk-Beige, Expresso Brown (dark chocolate brown) - no Ash/Grey

Leather: Black, Silk Beige, Expresso Brown

Designo Leather: Platinum White, Black

2) On this Interior Package w/Leather - that Power Passenger Seat with Memory is a separate option (included in the Designo Package for Designo leather)

3) Adding Interior Package + Leather - yes, requires adding U09 at additional cost.

Keep the beat !

Arrogant - no - harried trying to help here while in the middle of peak Mercedes season for my customers - yes.

And frankly there is more misinformation/misunderstanding on the GLC - even now that it on the ground at dealers nationwide - than any other new Mercedes model delivered to the US market ever before.

The GLC itself is a AWESOME value - a new benchmark in it's class -

awjenni, this exact configuration price difference happened to me as well. I'm not sure if they fixed the online configuration pricing yet...., but in the end, my dealer credited me the $650 difference for what I called double pricing. Online, when you added the interior package, the price is $1850, and the system forces you to add the M-Tex dashboard for $650, a total of $2500. I went to the dealer and the interior price is $2500, which to me - includes the M-Tex dashboard.... but they wanted to add another $650... finally, they agreed and I received the credit.

The "Build Tool" on mbusa.com has now been fixed with respect to the price on the Interior Package and MB Tex dashboard. NetStar and the Build Tool are now in sync. The build tool now shows $2500 for the interior package and $650 for the dash (and Premium Package required).
