Hi Guys,

Just bought my GLC and noticed something in the rear leather seats and i would like you opinion before i complain to my MB dealer.
As you can see in the pic, in the rear seat ( the back of the seat) the leather looks a bit wrinkly - tatty and definitely not like a brand new one, whereas the front seats looks great
So far i have seen more pics like this but nobody has complain about it.
Any ideas?am i crazy and too detailed?

Our seats in both cars aren't much different, but being leather, we didn't really think much of it.

Mine doesn't quite look as loose as yours. I did notice when looking at other GLC's online that the leather always seemed to have that more relaxed look. I was kind of questioning that myself. And, why is the back seat solid leather and the front seats are all perforated leather? I know the front are ventilated but it would have been nice if the back had at least been perforated for consistency and better breathing in the summer.

If you didn't say anything I would think that it looked normal.
Also about having perforated seats in the back, One time my dog had diarrhea in my old care with perforated seats, trust me, it isn't nice. Since then, i hate having perforated seats unless there is a function for it such as a cooling fan.

I don't recall reading this anywhere but does anyone else find that you have to shut the doors pretty hard to get them to close fully? Maybe I'm just used to my BMW that had soft close?

Yes, door seals are great, except when you have a window partly open and the passenger closes the door with 'normal' force. I nearly wore the passenger door in my lap ! Oh hum ! Lol.

Yes, the doors require a little stronger close than previous Benzes of mine. I think the main difference is that with the triple-sealed doors of the GLC all 3 seal surfaces have rubber contacts. Previously, M-B used a less compressible fabric contact surface mounted around the door opening. I think the GLC is a big improvement over the previous system not only because of improved noise reduction but also because the fabric (if beige) made it difficult to clean off foot scuffs.

The second time I got into drive it, I guess it didn't shut all the way. Then I put it in drive and attempted to take off and the car wouldn't go and said I needed to disengage the parking brake. I realized the door was ajar so I shut it and still would not let me go. I had to put it in park and then back in drive before it was good.
The funny part is, we went to dinner after buying it (and after my above experience) and I used the valet. As we were waiting to speak to the hostess, I looked back and the valet guy was still there in the car looking very confused. This is a high end restaurant so those guys are no strangers to nicer automobiles (there was a Ferrari and a Maserati parked in front). So I walked back out and he asked where the parking brake release is The same exact thing had happened to him.

Gotta slam those GLC doors hard. Currently attempting to gain my wife's understanding of how they function.

The upside is lack of road noise when underway.

I think the parking brake has a mind of its own. Matter of fact, I think the vehicle has a mind of its own.

not sure if i'm just used to the closing force now or the seals loosened up a little i don't think my glc needs as much force to close anymore.

It's nice that you can change the ambient lighting color but the color lighting on the seat adjustment controls remains orange no matter what. IMO it should change with the ambient lighting color choice.

Does anyone have a vibration/rattle coming from their command screen on the dash? I can silence by holding the screen it seems.

I have not heard it. While on the topic of noises, I have not experienced excessive road noise at speed, break squeal or wiper squeal like several have had. Maybe mine was far enough down the build line to have addressed all of these or it's the luck of the draw. For as long as I waited, I'd rather have not sitting in the shop for annoyances.

You know I haven't looked...I've barely had the chance to really play with everything because of work commitments and I'm off to Vegas for a week come Friday. I'm going to assume yes on the windshield because of the HUD but I can check the others. I'll have to dig up the posts about how they are identified.

The words 'Acoustic Glass" will be imprinted on the lower corner. I have the HUD and my windshield does not indicate it is Acoustic. I have not noticed any noise coming in from that direction though.

I thought I read somewhere that the HUD required special glass that is acoustic (or equivalent).

All windshields are laminated glass, It's what is in-between the layers that count. They obviously have to use a special layer for the HUD. Just not sure if it has acoustic properties. Like I said though, I don't get any noise from that direction so all is good. BTW I love the HUD, had it in my last car and that now has become a have to have option. Nice to see the price dropping on it too.

I do not have acoustic glass (at least its not printed on the window). Had the car over 80 on the interstate on the way home tonight, seems very quiet to me. Of course, I have been driving a Honda Element for the past month+ while waiting for this to come in and the wind noise in that thing is worse than my motorcycles

Only the front door windows are marked acoustic glass.
