Why not? I have a matte grey finish on my Super Tenere motorcycle...really no different other than lack of shine. I still use soap/water and Honda spray polish on it for cleaning/detailing. Scratches aren't easily repairable though like with gloss paint...at least not that I've seen.

Accumulation of scratches and cleaning marks with apparently no simple fix.
I like the brown and black interior, and I think Matte brown would be the best matching exterior. I'm am not crazy about glossy brown cars.

would not get. impossible to fix if gets scratched/marked up. difficult to match if ever have accident. My dealer advised against it. I have only seen one make it to the US. It is at a dealer in Scottsdale.

"Matte" certainly not recommended for "daily" driving - yes, chips - although you could choose to "protect" with SunTek matte/clear paint protection film.
Collision repair can be challenging - of the Mercedes Certified Collision Centers - I would estimate only 1-of-10/15 have elected for "matte" training.. although with collision/safety damage - Roadside Assist would provide free flatbed tow to the "closest" matte/Certified - had one come into my guys from 1100 miles away - since my guys are "matte Certified" and the closest - however, you don't get free tow back after repair under Roadside - we worked the return thru his insurance company.
There is one in Scottsdale - a customer order for San fran at VPC - and one open order on the water...

IMO, matte finish paint jobs on everyday driver types of cars look kind of ridiculous. And maybe a little ghetto/poser. I feel the same way about the amg sport exterior package with the amg wheels, the flat bottom steering wheel and carbon fiber trim pieces. If it's not an amg performance model, why make it something that it's not? On an amg model I'd do it. On an sl, I'd do it. On an amg gt, I'd do it. But something like their non-performance models, I'd like to go the classy route. The flat brown simply is too pricy of an option for me.
