"Mercedes sells one diesel model in the U.S., the 2016 GLE300d. The company plans to introduce the 2017 diesel version of the GLE midsize crossover by year end, Moran said, as well as the 2017 GLS350d, the diesel version of the brand’s large SUV."

Well, I enjoy my 2016 GLE300d.
New member, 2nd GL350 (in a 2016 now) - and I'm a VW TDI owner who will take the buyback and get a GLC 300d - if they're available at the time . . .
Got a note into my dealer to see if they have any fresh insight into availability.

No - there isn't a GLC300d scheduled for 2017 model line up - maybe next year EPA will get their act together..
That said, it still appears that Mercedes is not on track for 2017 diesels. I hope the EPA gives the approval, but that has not occurred yet.

As fabbrisd1 posted above a big part of the reason for delay is the EPA. Additionally, there seems to be an over abundance of caution on the part of the automobile manufacturers.
A curious development is GM is about to launch a diesel powered Cruze.
Too bad, I really liked the diesel in my GLK250.
Glad we got the new 2016 GL350 when we did! One of the last perhaps.
