Just put down a deposit for my Made in China GLC300. too many options to list. Should be getting it in 2 months or so.

 

Mine is a dealer stock car, so I made the deposit on 10 Feb and had the car ready last Thursday.

As it is stock car, the option are standard:

Its humble options, but consider the amount of tax I am paying in Hong Kong, I won't really want to add anything on. Beside, HK runs on exclusive dealer, so there is no price negotiation. The price of the car is HK$500K, which is US$64K. The dealer did throw in the LED intelligent light into the car as it is a 2015 stock car.

But I am happy with the car! No regrets!

 

Made in China?
I thought all GLCs in the US are made in Bremen, and those Chinese made GLCs are only for Chinese market.
Can someone confirm/disconfirm?

(I am not saying Chinese made things are all bad, as our beloved iPhones iPads & etc. are all MiC)

 

I am originally from Taiwan and as far as I know, yes, you are right. All Audi/BMW/Mercedes MIC are for China domestic sales only. MIC models have some interesting spec/configurations solely for China market.

No worry we buy GLC in the US. It's MIG

 

My car is complete now. B7 status at the port right now waiting to be assigned a ship. So hopefully this week it's on its way to the Long Beach port in Cali

My GLC is on a boat for Long Beach. Fyi- it left Bremerhaven on Feb 14, stopped in Newark, Baltimore, Charleston, Brunswick, and is now on its way to Panama. Based on Dieseldoc's ship, which is scheduled to arrive in LB on Mar 4, I estimate just about 4 weeks for the entire trip - Bremerhaven to Long Beach. So hang in there!

Here comes the hard part... the waiting game.. Lol.. the timing might be a perfect Bday gift since my BDay is in a month so hopefully it comes before that but I'm sure it will be around that time give or take a week.

 

I will when it gets assigned to a ship.. I did get the VIN number.. So ill start tracking as soon as it get a ship

 

Since you got the vin, try your vin on the Wallenius wilhelmsen site and see if your car has been loaded on one of their ships.

 

Just tried it.. Not showing up yet.. Assuming any day this week it should get a ship and be on its way. Hopefully tomorrow! Lol

 

Our GLC is arriving at the dealer tomorrow, however our commitments mean pick up on Tuesday. Being retired, we can get out of town for a couple of days and 'run-in' the car

 

One of your fellow countrymen suggested that MB might use multiple carriers. see if your dealer has the ship's name

Yeah, My Bad. I travel a lot both ways but have been spending a lot of my time recently in China so we needed a car. We ordered a made in China for the China market GLC. They have 3 different models and engines GLC200, 260, and 300. In my typical fashion, I went for the larger engine but not the highest spec.

 

Here is my (or my wife's) final build. For those of you following my other thread, I asked my SA to add the lighting package, but he said it was too late, even though it was the same day my order went in. He offered to re-order another, but my wife said to just take it as it is.

I would re-order based on what I've read on here about the default lights vs the lighting pkg. I shouldn't be too late either...you can make changes up until a week or so before production begins. I added the air balance package a few weeks before production.

 

Part of me wanted to reorder, but the wife said no. I'll have to take a look more closely with/without the Lighting Package, as I haven't really noticed otherwise.

The way the SA described it, the order was locking and going into production really soon, he squeezed in a change at the 11th hour. The car is supposed to be here in April.

 

If you can make the change, I would do it. Big difference between LEDs and halogens. I have halogens on my c class and LEDs on my GLC. Worth the price.
