This must be a first !
corporate not giving free mapping.
i suggest you request from the dealer a full Vin profile of build for your Veh, should be about 5 pages and obtain a Vin build from the Russian site.
my guess the Veh profile will state free 3 year mapping updates.
i think your dealer may have some flexibility, ask around other dealerships, I’m sure they would like your service income when you start paying.
good luck.

Quick summary . 250D, 2 years old, about to have 2nd service at 42000km.
Early issue was failure of fuel pump, took 2 visits to fix with 2 trips in on a flat bed truck. All good since. Ave fuel use around 7l/100 in city driving. Daily drive around 70km on freeway traffic ranging from 80kph to stop start and 40kph in city zones. Adaptive cruise control on 90% of Time, both city, side streets and country travels.
Regret not having air suspension fitted, front shock / spring set up not comparable to out Lexus or BMW, first time over a speed hump I pulled over to check if shocks had come though bonnet, then I checked my fillings !
Tyres fitted at delivery were Pirelli Scorpion Verde run flats. Early issues with crabbing, juddering and excessive edge wear on front left Tyre. Took MBA 12 months to correct issue, fitted Goodyear, All Season tyres, Mud & Snow versions. Massive improvement in ride quality, no crabbing. Pirelli tyres swapped at 32000km from memory, would have obtained 42000km from them before safety bars require replacement.
Essential to rotate and align tyres every 10000km to extend Tyre life.
MBA have done 3 x align on car, first 2 I paid, but each time they altered factory default settings, no doubt trying to fine tune issues for RHD cars in Oz. I insisted on printed copies of align settings showing before and after settings.
Free mapping update was done at first service, hopefully a new version has been issued to have my next free map update at service.
As I said, car now at 42000km and we need new drake pads and discs all round, about $1500 in parts. I will get this done at service.
Told some brakes last a lot less as do tyres ? I run tyres at 36psi all round and have nitrogen filled courtesy of Costco as a free benefit.
I run an after market live TPMS on all tyres to give me temp and Psi readings.
I regulate run a bottle of fuel / injector cleaner in diesel tank, brand varies, but I usually get Nulon when on special at auto stores.
Fitted Pittasoft dash cam, will hard wire soon. Had duco, interior and Glass treated by specialist shop after delivery, car still looks showroom condition. Fitted door weather shields and rear boot chrome protective lip and centre arm console tray, all from Ebay.
Have not experienced Glass shudder with wipers like others or brake squeal, though occasionally on reversing in morning in winter.
Rear wiper blade needs replacing, fronts seem ok still.
About 6 months ago did a deep cycle battery maintenance to recondition it and hopefully extend battery life, will do it about every 12 months.
Looking to buy a small 12v output plug with 2 USB ports and had wire into back seat console hole under the two AC outlets for rear passenger use.
MBA do not offer integration of TPMS for our older GLC models, but Chinese manuf does, about $170us, looking to purchase 4 sensors, module and software to fully integrate with live psi and temp data.
Also purchased extended car warranty for another 5 years with OEM type coverage. Confident policy and premium was worth it and will give cover for unexpected issues, given it’s a new model with no track record to fall back on.
So that’s about it. Will post other info as it comes to hand.
We have a 250d Coupe as well, only 12 months old. Will report on that later. Due for first service soon.

Question to our overseas readers :
We here in Oz do not have a Service booklet that details what each progressive 25,000km / 12 mth service entails, no definitive listing of what is done.
Back to servicing costs from earlier post.
Advice given to me has been:
1st service, 12mth/25,000km is $495, fixed price
2nd svc, 24 mth/50,000km is $895, fixed price
3rd svc, 36 mth/75,000km is $895, fixed price
4th svc, 48mth/100,00km is $1952 – not sure what's done yet.
5th svs, 60thmth/125,000km is $3165 – again, not sure what's done.
This is for 250d model.
I will try and see if I can obtain more detailed data, difficult due to not having a paper based servicing booklet – all internal to MB data fields.

All info and digital records held by dealer/MB Aust. We only have a copy of what's done when paying and collecting our car from service.

Do any of our colleagues from USA, Europe, UK, Ireland, Sth Africa, ets have a service book that lists all the work and has to be stamped by the dealer ?

Alternatively if you have a PDF of such a document I would love to have a copy please.
We have a 250D.
Many Thanks

here is the US i was told that for service it is A, B, A, B, A, B and that's pretty much it, every 1 year or 10k miles. all have oil change and B has a couple other things
that is my understanding, can anyone else confirm?

@Teckno - I have a booklet that came with the GLC - "Service Booklet, Information about service" - that lists things to be done at certain intervals. It's only 16pp. On page 13 you'll find the list. I used the list to construct the numbers in post #289. So you don't get the information packaged exactly in the form you're seeking, but you can construct it as I did. The services are A-B-A-B-etc as ajmtbm said, and you add in the items from p13 of the booklet. Did you not get this booklet?

Teckno - why don't you do what I did in #289? Take that booklet to your dealer and get quotes for the base A and B services and for each of the add-on components? The issue with the numbers that you were quoted for years 4 & 5 is that they haven't been quoted to anyone else here, and when I mentioned them to my service manager he dismissed them outright.

UK Best Tyre review 2017.

No reviews of All Season tyres that I can find.
There is a link for winter tyres, but not suitable for Oz.
Will keep looking for All Season Tyre comparison.

Some interesting results from my second service on the diesel wagon.
It appears I received the 2017 map upgrade and an upgrade or fix for LED headlights, not noticed any issue, but OS have had this software / firmware upgrade, I presume it was not a manual focus adjustment.
Two new button batteries for remote, lots of “checking”.
Replace combination filter, $50. Replace brake fluid $42, every 2 years. Replace dust filter, $144. 10 lt of AdBlue $33, oil filter $47, 6 litre MB diesel oil $172.
Replace front pads and discs, replace rear pads, labour only $542.
Rear discs ok, should last till next service.
Cost of brake parts will be covered later.
Some minor issues re lack of attention to detail, notified Service Advisor.
Interesting generic nature of check and report tick sheet, check first aid kit expire date and record ? Yes I have one, but no info recorded, a number of check , if fitted. Check spare wheel, oh spare me ! and tire fit repair kit – I have run flats !
Told about tread wear and disc thickness, verbal only, not recorded on docs handed to me, unless you write it down, easily forgotten or worse assume wrong info in translation. Car not washed, good, failed to vacuum, disappointing.
But after all that car feels great to drive, just need to bed brakes in for the next 500 km to get best from them, but not advised of care Re discs on departure.
Hope this gives some insight to B plus service, year 2.

Trial shipment of Goodyear Eagle Sport, RFT, ALL Season, M&S, 255/45R20 fitted to GLC last Sept. 90% improvement immediately coming out of winter into Spring. Summer has been good, about to head into Autumn, real test will be Aussie winter and cold wet mornings with U Turns and right turns around roundabouts.
All Season tyres very difficult to source and my guess is those designs that are working will see extreme shortage with Tyre manuf being unable to supply demand. Volume numbers in MB unique sizing will not assist.
Found same Goodyear’s fitted to GLC43 in Hawaii, new on dealer floor....... Hawaii does not get as cold as Oz or UK, but an be very wet, so I guess our US cousins are getting an allocation when built in Germany.
I have done around 8,000km I think and tread wear down from 7mm to 5mm approx; wear bars kick in at 1.5mm. Rotating around 8,000km.
Tread wear rating is 560 I think, Pirelli Scoprion Verde, summer tyres was 400 tread wear; I got around 42000km from them, allowing for tread depth when I had Goodyear’s fitted. Hopefully the Goodyear’s will last more. In USA these have a 50,000 mile g’tee, we do not have such warranty here in Oz.
Hope this helps – All Season tyres seem to be the reasonable workaround. We do not have the Vredestein tyres our UK cousins have to evaluate, they too seem to be getting good reviews.
I may be able to help have some of these (Vredestein) imported as a pallet load, but need to do far greater research before committing and going into partnership with one or two other GLC owners and the Agent.

Cover sourced from EBay

Original air outlet under front seats.
Found this online.
purchased, bit of a “luxury”, to stop small items falling into air outlet under both front seat outlets. Probably more useful with small children as passengers with snacks and small toys getting lost . EBay purchase from China. Fits wel with a reassuring “clip”.

On another matter, some good news to report.
Dealer logged another report to MB HQ on Coupe tires, staggered rims, 255 and 285 on 20” AMG rims.
Original Michelin Latitude 3 summer, non run flats have been replaced after 14000km, wear rates were acceptable, though I did not measure them before leaving car, I should have to gain a better idea of wear rate – not permitted to keep casings as MB may claim against Michelin ?
Now fitted same tyres as I have been running since last year, the Goodyear Eagle Sport, All Season, RFT, M&S tyres. Now fitted to front and rear.
This should be a solution for other Coupe and GLC 43 owners with staggered 20” rims.
Goodyear’s are scarce, I think MB have imported their own stock pile to meet client demand.
Ride seems ok so far, PSI set at 36, though another Service Tech suggested 40psi ? As new default setting to assist with crabbing. MB also still fine tuning align settings and toe-in I think.
Hope to get new data from alignment machine to see trending figures and default settings.
Hope this helps fellow owners with winter approaching.

That's the most encouraging update that I've read I've read in a while. Your dealer sounds better than mine, esp since my preferred salesman left.

Update on Tyre wear. Goodyear Eagle Sport, All weather, M&S, MOE, 255 series on 20” AMG rims.
These replaced my Pirelli Scorpion Verde, Summer tyres, MOE, LASTED approx 35000km, may have got 42,000km before wear bars kicked in.
So measured tyres earlier myself as Dealer did not record Tyre wear on recent service.
Use small Michelin Tyre pressure unit with Tyre depth reader, sells around $25 from AutObarn stores.
Tyres when new – 8.0 to 7.9mm
Four Tyre channels to read, tyres have an outer side for fitting, inside channel seems to be 7.7 deep. Outside leading edge depth around 6.7mm.
My tyres on GLC, Fitted Sept 17.
Travelled approx 8000km
Wear is approx.
Tyres just rotated front to rear, so readings are rears in reality for fronts now, etc.
Front driver – edge 6.2, across 4 channels, 7.4 and 7.3mm
Front pass – edge 6.3, across, 7.3 and 7.2mm
Rear Drv side – edge 5.9, across, 7.1 and 7.2mm
Rear pass – edge 6.1, across, 7.0 and 7.1mm

When New tyres are :
Edge 6.7mm and across between 8.0mm and 7.9mm

So allowing for start 8.00 mm and average now after 8000km, with depth say 7.2mm and allowing end safe depth of 1.5mm, we have 6.5mm to effectively use.
I have used 0.8mm for 8000km.
To keep it simple, not allowing for any Tyre mixture wear pattern in manuf layering and running at 36psi, let’s say 1.0mm for 8000km. Therfore I think I could possibly achieve 52000km, if rotated @ 10,000km and aligned on rotation.
So I expect a range of 50,000 to 60,000km from these All Season, Run Flat, MOE tyres.
Most of my driving recently has been 35km in morning and 35km in afternoon, city and freeway driving ranging from 40 to 80kph. Couple of country runs of 250km each way, day and night driving in Spring and Summer conditions, couple in heavy rain, majority of driving on dry roads, not a lot of rain this year.
So Treadwear rating of 560 for Goodyear’s seems reasonable (Pirelli treadwear rating is 400).
Hope this helps re considering, All Season, RFT, MOE tyres as an alternative

Does anyone know about this loyalty program, to entice you to remain service customers ?
Is this offered by other Dealers and I guess there might be a joining fee ?

From day one I have never really been happy with the route guidance on my GLC 250D and could not work out why. It now looks like there is a major defect in the navigation software.

Last week I was in Brisbane and the route guidance was giving me unusual instructions taking me back through the congested part of the city when the destination was the Sunshine Coast. When I looked down at the map the indicated direction was correct but the voice guidance was using completely different data. Is this a known problem?

Sorry James,
Not heard of this issue either with UK, USA or Oz owners.
My guess is different software providers, so best source is Oz forums including this one.
we have not had that issue, just dr8ving off in farmland that has been upgraded to freeway and the software being old.
Ask your Dealer and ask for your free Nav syst upgrade. If already upgraded, ask for a clean install, you may however loose your past destination data points.
Is yours the Command System ? Or the one with an SD card ?
Let us know how you go, if I hear anything I will post here as well as Whirplool in Oz.
Good luck.

I am running the command system. What do you mean by "your free Nav Syst upgrade" . Is that an entitlement or a suggestion to fix the problem under warranty. The car is book in for warranty tomorrow. I will report back on what happens.

Our GLC is entitled to 3 x free mapping updates.
our current edition is 2017. This was installed in Feb 18 for my car.
check your edition number, if 2016, then ask for free update. If 2017, ask for it to be reinstalled and excluded from free number, due to malfunction.
there will be a headlight warranty fis and possibly 2 other updates, if you raise them as concerns. From memory transmission surge and steering ?
Ask salesman or delivery/ service pers for print of car configuration, about 4 pages. It’s a data summary and lists all build options for Oz, incl any free mapping updates allowed.
Some Corporate customers I am told do not “qualify” ?

GLC in top 10 Consumer Reliability in USA.

“ Any vehicle based on the Mercedes C-Class has a head-start on the competition, so there is no surprise the GLC compact SUV fared well in Consumer Reports tests. Reviewers pointed out the excellent performance, genuine luxury feel inside the cabin, and unusually appealing nine-speed transmission. With its first year of reliability tests out of the way, the GLC line got the best score of any Mercedes in the running. “
Nice to hear.

Most early GLC in Oz only provides a dumbed down warning of loss of pressure.
Only later models, like GLC43 offer full syst from my general observations.
