Howdy Folks.. new to all this forum stuff, so i will be reading more often than posting. Collected my new Black GLC220D Exclusive about two weeks ago. First SUV....I always drove 520D BMW so still learning. My GLC came with 18" Yokohama Tyres (not runflats) with a little gadget in the boot for fixing punctures or phone number to call for roadside help.... Everything in Ireland appears to be an extra with the Exclusive range.. That's my bit for now.....

Yes very happy, done 21000km. Only real concern is the tyre crabbing, we seem to have fixed the worst of it. Tyre wear needs to be watched, ill rotate each 10k, due now, so is 25k, first service. I've installed a cigarette lighter adapter that reads tyre pressures from 4 sensors fitted to tyre valves on each wheel. Keeping an eye on any variation in hot climate.
Wife's GLC Coupe is on the water to arrive here early Feb, she's very happy, wait and see how tyres behave on that, likely to not be runflats and different profiles, still on 20" AMG rims.
Happy driving 'cousin' from the 'old country ' !

Do you need this. ...can you not get pressures through cars own system?

Not essential. But nice to see actual pressures. In Oz we are only provided with a low pressure warning, via dash. No active TPMS as such.
Already noticed one tyre running 3 psi lower than rest, easy to fix and monitor.
Wish MB provided a TPMS with individual pressure and temp readouts.

Recommended MB "How To" site from USA, so a couple of videos not applicable for Oz.

Nice 43, JustinS..
i'm still tossing up whether to get a fully loaded GLC250 or go with a GLC43. Havent done the cost comparison between the two, but I imagine the 43 is well priced. If you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay?
How long did you have to wait?

Car sales in Oz .... SUV data and GLC.
http://www.caradvice.com.au/507489/s...luxury-market/
The segment leaders are the: Mercedes-Benz GLC (4455, almost entirely new to the segment), Land Rover Discovery Sport (3975, up 129 per cent), BMW X3 (3580, up 34 per cent) and Audi Q5 (3298, down 15 per cent).
For context, the GLC has outsold the Ford Kuga (now Escape), and the Discovery Sport has doubled the sales haul managed by the Jeep Cherokee.
These are followed by the Lexus NX (3166, up 15 per cent) Range Rover Evoque (2492, up 16 per cent), Porsche Macan (2116, up 10 per cent), Volvo XC60 (1996, up 23 per cent), BMW X4 (1607, up 59 per cent) and new Jaguar F-Pace (668).
In the overall brand stakes, the list of top-selling luxury SUV-makers goes:
BMW (13,492, up 43 per cent)
Land Rover/Range Rover (12,427, up 17.5 per cent)
Mercedes-Benz (12,406, up 94 per cent)
Audi (9253, up 6 per cent)
Lexus (5214, up 16.5 per cent)
Volvo (3512, up 59 per cent)
Porsche (3419, up 8 per cent)
I think these were sales figures to end Nov 16.
Interesting to see final 2016 figures when released next month.

Oz, final 2016 sales.
Mercedes-Benz — 41,226 units, up by 4852
Long-time Australian luxury leader — and now the global number one as well — Mercedes-Benz, just keeps on growing apace. With 41,226 sales this year, it easily beat BMW (28,028) and Audi (24,258), and its growth of 13 per cent actually extended this gap.
This is all the more interesting considering its top-seller, the C-Class sedan and wagon (6816 units) fell by 27 per cent.
Picking up the slack were the GLC (4454, up 3528 units, supplemented by 354 GLC coupe sales at year’s end) and GLE SUVs (up 800 units over its M-Class predecessor, plus an additional 828 GLE coupes).
Other strong sellers included the C-Class coupe/convertible (up 1115 units to 2524), GLA (up 755 units), A-Class (up 706 units) and V-Class (253 units up over 2015’s figure).

I think my Aussie buddies refer to that as a "Toorak Tractor"
I'm selling a race motor to an Aussie to finance the differential between the GLC300 my wife said was sensible to the 43 that I want. Sacrifices must be made! Hope to visit your great country one of these years.

Alex B,
Well done on the Toorak Tractor, a very Melbournian phrase.
I think you would really fit in here in Oz. You need to learn the word "Mate", spoken drawn out to say "Maaate".
In the reverse I'm hoping to visit USA in the next two years, lots to see from what I've read.
Either way enjoy the GLC, it's a great all rounder, we love our diesel version.
Cheers

Axel B: good one mate, you'd fit in down under no worries.
Toorak is on the other side of OZ to where my GLC43 haunts, maybe "Claremont Cruiser" would be better suited for us blokes in the West...
Race motor sounds intriguing, oh & goodluck with the glc43 you will love it.

Axel B, And by the way, your doing the right thing. Life is too short to be buying sensible automobiles.

Hi new on here.
Picked up the GLC 43 AMG 3 weeks ago. All I can say is it is amazing car for its size.
Also tested drove the Audi & Porsche , so glad I picked the GLC.
Handles a dream, goes like bullet.
Highly recommend this car if you are after a SUV.
Can't wait to the lunch of the GLC 63 later this year that will really shake up this car sector.
taking delivery
First run to the Barossa Valley

Big congratulations.
We already have a 250d, wagon version for last 12 months.
In around 20 days we hope to take delivery of our second GLC, this time another 250d, but in a Coupe body shape.
Will post photos after delivery and when we have duco and interior treatment by third party technician.

The GLC has been named in the list of contenders for Wheels magazine Car Of The Year.
https://www.wheelsmag.com.au/car-of-...the-contenders
The interesting question they raised:
"But will the standard, steel-sprung suspension tune be up to the punishment of Ford’s You Yangs proving ground?"

Thanks Penn.
Good read from Wheels article.
I enrolled and voted for the GLC to win Car of the Year for 2017.
I think we only have till 15 Feb to cast our vote.
Hope all on the forums get a chance to vote......
