I discovered that...

Feel free to add interesting/not so interesting facts that you have just discovered about your GLC.

I just discovered last night that the Intelligent LEDs turn on additional wide angle beam as you approach a roundabout in conjunction with Sat. Nav.

There appears to be 2 different styles of star on the front. One has a 'flush' finish with the star on a shiny backing while the other has the star with a recessed mesh behind. I'm presuming the 'flush' one has some radar apparatus fitted.

Or what I have not discovered?
I'm still trying to figure out how the park assist works when pulling up to a parallel space?
I know I should read the manual but any pointers?

AFAIK If you have Driver assist the Mercedes star will be filled in. If you don't have driver assist the star is meshed...

Touch/press the turn signal indicator briefly in either direction and it automatically flashes the turn signals three times. If you have 'lane keep assist' it allows you to change lanes without interference.

You press the pedal on the right to go faster, press the pedal on the left to go slower.

Seriously, can't believe how many folks there are out there on a Sunday afternoon that don't know this

I have this on my GL, which is the previous generation. My wife's GLC does not have it, so I don't know if it is different.

The hardest part to figure out was not, IMO, explained well in the manual. It's intuitive though. The car has to measure the space. This means there must be two cars, one in front of and one behind the space. The measurements seem to be taken from the rear of our Mercedes. Thus you need to signal your attention to park before the rear of your car passes the front of the car behind the space. And you need to pull up far enough so that the rear of your car passes the rear of the car in front of the space.

In my GL, these are necessary. But really with the 360 camera it's just easier to do it myself!

The front door panels are all soft touch material. No hard plastic on the bottom half. Very nice touch.

If your light is set to auto then you twist it to another setting while driving and then back to auto again the lights won't turn off properly when you lock the car unless you manually turn the light off

As we know, most, if not all, of these discoveries are buried somewhere in the OM. Did you know that in addition to the steering wheel mute the volume adjustment on the console will mute if pushed in? Found this by accident.

The moulded plastic that forms the cup holder in the centre clips out to make a more usable storage space if that is what is preferred.

When I release the back seats to lay flat while loading, the front seats move forward so the back seats don't hit the back of them. Nice feature.

Kind of. My seat is far enough forward it wouldn't hit (and I'm 6'2") so that just means I have to move the seat back into position when I get in.

In the US, the 14-way power driver seat with memory is standard, so the driver's seat will move forward if it is in the way, but the passenger seat will only move if you have the 14-way power front passenger seat with memory option in your build.

From page 305 of the Owner's Manual:
* Vehicles without memory function: if necessary, move the driver's or front-passenger seat forward.
* Vehicles with memory function: when one or both parts of the rear seat backrest are folded forward, the respective front seat moves forward slightly, when necessary, in order to avoid contact.

One additional interesting feature: The next bullet on that page shows that you can place the seat belt tab in a pre-cut hole, so they it won't rattle or bang around.

Anyone tried adjusting the angle of the rear set backrests? If you have the "Stowage Space Package" (never seen that referenced before), the back-seat catch on the C-piller has a folded-down extension that, when pulled out, adjusts the angle of the back seats an additional 10 degrees, giving you more room in the back storage area.

See page 312 of the Owner's Manual for details/pictures.

Have they changed the build options recently? Last I checked, the power memory seats were a $430 option.

In the US, the $430 option is to add memory to the front passenger seat; the driver's seat gets it by default.

Fuel door locks with the vehicle.

Found out Sunday that if you pull the cruise control arm towards you ("RESUME"), it will set the cruise. Had only thought that you had to push down for set/decrease.

Found out I don't like run-flat tires—noisy and rough riding. Changing to regular tires would require a spare. There is no space to store an emergency spare under the cargo floor, and placing one in the cargo area would reduce a small area to nearly none at all. Otherwise a great auto.

Mine feel like they are grabbing the grooves in the concrete to well, she weaving down the highway with the grooves. At first, I thought that my lugs were loose.

If you push it up it sets the cruise to current speed. Push it up again and it sets it to the posted speed limit. It cycles back and forth between the two.

There are a lot of threads here on spare tire options that you may want to look into as there is a lot of good info.

I bought a spare from modernspare.com and it fits neatly under in back. The improvement in ride with non RFT is amazing. I can fit spare and tools and there as well as some other things (owners manual, umbrella, snowbrush, etc)

Thanks for the suggestion, but the space under the cargo floor isn't deep enough to put a spare in the 2020 GLC. Otherwise I would have bought one long ago. I've seen the Modern Spare site and would buy one if their tire would fit. Unfortunately they say it won't for my auto.
