Does GLC come with rear side airbags?

I just got a GLC and I do not see an SRS sign on the side doors for rear side airbags. Now that I search online I am getting mixed results on whether it comes with them or not. Also, when I ordered the car there was no option for rear side airbags so I assumed they came standard (as some cars have them as an option). Does anyone know? I am kind of mad at myself for not noticing before leasing the car, as part of the reason I got it was for its safety. I know it comes with rear curtain airbags but I am unsure of side airbags. We do have a baby on the way and I do read online that there is controversy with side airbags and baby seats or small children however I still would have chosen the option had I known.

Also, why are cars not coming with them as they used to couple years ago.

Airbags everywhere. The governments effort to protect us from mayhem.

US, the only country on the planet where the driver's airbag is designed to protect an unbelted driver.

I'm actually a proponent of airbags...and seatbelts. What I'm not a proponent of, is the ease by which one acquires a drivers license in the US.

The US is trying to change Darwins theory.
