I am in Ohio and understand from one of the dealership that they do not have any 2017 GLC's due to high demand. They told me that we can order 2018 GLC and it not be in till early fall. Also, this dealership said that they are not offering any discounts on MSRP now and will not until next 7 months.

I am not in Ohio, but I can tell you every single dealer I spoke to in Phoenix offered some % off MSRP. I think it's safe to say demand is pretty high for these vehicles versus the supply across the board, even though these dealers didn't have trouble moving the cars off their lots I didn't have any issue negotiating some discount with all of them. The % was obviously higher for a 2017 but I still got a decent discount on a MY2018. I can't speak for your market but that was my experience with mine. If you do manage to get a discount don't negate where they can make that money back, e.g. make sure they don't rip you a new one with financing rates or money factors depending on how you're obtaining the vehicle (purchase/lease).
I would rather wait till fall and see if i end up in paying MSRP without any % discount.

Call any dealer you are willing to drive to OR call the dealer that is offering 10% off in XXXX city. It costs about $500-1000 to ship a car across country. 10% off, becomes 8% if you are shipping it across country from another dealership

When negotiating for a car I recommend the following:
1. Do your home work before starting any negotiation. Know exactly what you want, the price you want to pay and how you plan to finance/lease.
2. Create a spread sheet with every detail, such as base price, options/price, and final MSRP. Include purchase/lease numbers to insure any discount on price is not negotiated away in finance/lease charges.
3. Include the discount and final price you are want to pay for the car on the spread sheet. Be reasonable but aggressive in your discount, your homework should help you determine what is reasonable.
4. email your spread sheet with a cover email to perspective dealers.
Using this approach, dealers know you are serious and have done your homework. Plus they know there should not be a lot of hand holding required to make the sale. To get the best discount you need to make it easy for the dealer to say yes or at least reply to your email with hopefully an acceptable counter offer.

Thank you for your suggestion. One of the dealer 100 miles away from my place in OH came up with 7% off MSRP with out any negotiation on 2017 GLC available in their lot. Will initiate negotiation and see where they can come upto.😀

Have you got 7yrs extended warranty and prepaid maintenance? If so, what is the pricing you had got from the dealer.

Found article on UK site re discounting various models.
First time I have seen GLC listed.
" Buyacar has up to 13% off the Mercedes GLC. Prices for the entry-level 220d SE with an automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive start at £31,850 – a £4,575 reduction on the list price. There are similar savings across the range, whether you’re buying in cash or on finance. "

Maybe in prep for a face lift ? Or pre positioning for increased competition with new models coming out from Q5, X3, VW, Skoda SUV, etc. Interesting to see if flow on to Aussie market – time will tell.
