Rear Bumper Protection
One of the my few concerns I had when we first bought the GLC was the lack of any protection to the top of the rear bumper especially from our dog's claws when getting in and out of the rear. Searched various sites for after market protection and I came across this on Ebay UK.
Looks great easy to install (3M tape) and of quality finish. I bought through a German supplier for £50. Pictures attached.
Cheers Greg

I had the same concern with a similar solution.
While having Expel protection applied to the front of my GLC I asked the installer to place a piece on top on the rear bumper. What I like about it is you can't tell it's there unless one looks very closely.

I have the same concern as I have two dogs and it was surprising that this cover was not available as a genuine MB accessory.
All the stainless steel covers I have seen so far are from China.
Was the cover you purchased made in Germany?

We purchased one on eBay, from HK or China.
Easy to fit, rear boot guard, good quality, very happy.
Also purchased some chrome ( plastic ) bling for external mirrors, do not fit OZ cars, must be different moulds for different markets. Also purchased front and rear mud flaps, front fit perfectly, with side steps, however rear flaps a fail, not even close to rear guard profile.
So whilst cars look the same seems MB has different external profiles or 'moulds' for different Continents, damm, makes ordering from OS a little more difficult.

Go to Expel's website and click on find a dealer. Living in LA you should have many choices. I found but two where I live.

I have one of these waiting in my garage, reminding me I still have at least a month before delivery!

Just found one on eBay USA. This is the one I want to get. http://www.ebay.com/itm/stainless-st...9W~yVh&vxp=mtr
addendum: On the eBay page it shows a polished stainless piece. But, the piece I received is brushed stainless. Just be forewarned! I am happy with the brushed look.

Here is the site I used. Cost was $114.00 AU.

Easy to install with 3M tape on underside. Happy with quality, in use about a month without any dint, scratching or issue.
I would buy again from this seller.

Not instructions from memory, however from past applications, I usually wash and dry area, then wipe down with metho and dry wipe again with micro cloth. I dry fit first to determine centre and edges then turn over and carefully take off 3M protective surface. I then lightly secure in place and once happy apply uniform pressure all over the top surface. I then peel off protective blue wrap to reveal bright chrome finish. Best to apply to warm Veh, or use hair dryer carefully to gradually heat up bumper area and chrome 3M material for best stick.
Avoid washing for 24 to 48 hours to enable 3M to bond.

Received the bumper guard from eBay. Looks great. Going to install it tomorrow.
Pre installed 3M double backed tape. you can see it even has rubber beading around the edges
You can see the depth of the stamping. Not bad at all. And you can see the brushed stainless grain

Has anyone tried the magnet test on the eBay Chinese supplier bumper protectors?
A magnet will not stick to proper marine grade stainless steel and any stainless a magnet will stick to may "tea stain" in the future.

This eBay vendor is KingcherAuto
Be Aware: the main eBay pic shows a polished chrome piece. Yet, two other pics show a brushed Stainless piece. The part I received is the brushed version. Which is fine with me.

They have many versions of this piece from china. Brushed or polished, with or without MB wording etc.
I went with the polished to match the rest of the car. It's a nice piece of money. Hopefully it stands the test of time.
