Ever changing D.O.G

These guys must be really good at selling what's in stock because they certainly are not good at taking orders to spec. I've been trying to buy one since end of April and for various reasons (none of them me), I still don't have one ordered.

Thanks for the info

2017 GLC 300 W4 +Driver Assist(P03)/panoramic roof/Burmeister
Got the VIN Today

I just got the VIN today but according to Rep they don't have pricing yet for my vehicle. We worked on a price with '16 to spec but since I'm gettting Steering assist. I'm getting the P4 package now which had the LED's I was interested in as well. Hopefully not far off.

How can I track the vehicle now since I have the VIN? Being built this week and told it will be here 18-27 days from next week (Northeast). I see posts where people know what ship it is on. Gauging travel plans where we might be able to drive it instead of older car.

New Problem with Order

Might not matter with the delivery date. I was looking over the order form that had my VIN on it and noticed they had P03 on it. I specifically ordered steering assist and this is actually the 2nd order since I could not get a hold of my dealer to add running boards (846) and it went red. They needed to be installed at the factory just like the hitch (550) , which is why I ordered to begin with. So I waited another month and just got the details of the order today when I inquired about the final price since we originally negotiated on '16 cost when they didn't have details.

The only saving grace that the order is right is I don't know what codes 218 and 5P6 are? they are not in the DOG form

.

Update: I called MBUSA and found out that P03 is the package with everything, there is no P04 package. the last DOG form I saw was the 5/31 version so I'm glad to hear everything is still on track. I looked at my older order form and 218 is a backup camera and SP6 is just an generic order entry code, not a feature code.

I ordered a GLC 350e Hybrid in September 2015, and firmed up the spec in June this year. Production in September. Delivery promised/indicated to Norway in October.

I was pleased that it took so long, as I changed the color to the new 2017-color Brilliant Blue (896). Interior 115 Beige/Black
I have most of the options, but not Panorama roof, Air suspension, memory seats.

I am busy reading the online User Manual, to try to familiarise myself with all the electronic aids. Think I am a bit too old to be a regular user of all the "toys"

Sure, I'd like the 6/31/16 DOG if you can send. Curious if the P04 is now gone. MB is not making it easy on their dealers to place orders...

2 Sport Package front aprons???

Does anybody know why there seems two be to different front Aprons for the sport package?
One has more chrome and wraps the entire front. The other is just the center.
These are screen shots from you tube: 2016 GLC reviews from Car Pro and Middle East Motoring.

Look at the silver wrap around chrome

This one is different

One is the North American version of the AMG Sport package, the other (top picture) is the rest-of-the world version. Ostensibly this is due to regulations or need for better approach clearance.

Just ordered 2017 GLC 300

I have waited for couple of months now. Had been looking at MY 2016 but couldn't get the configuration that I was looking for and they would not let me order a 2016. Finally, ordered a 2017 yesterday .

I was told that the car should be delivered by mid September. As I understand, the initial deliveries for MY 2017 would be impacted by EPA approval (even thought the engine has not changed for MY 2017).

Hi All,

I just heard from my dealer that my build slot was pushed from last week to the week of 7/25 Anyone hear anything similar? I somehow knew that things will get delayed but was secretly hoping it happens on time. I think it's going to be a long wait!

I will be speaking to my SA later today. Will keep the group updated if I hear anything more.

Revised DOG for 2017 GLC

Hello Everyone,

Attached is the latest DOG if you are interested. The Package structure has been slightly modified so you might want to touch base with your dealer.

Please keep us posted on actual delivery date. July 15th delivery does not make sense because the US launch is August.

Price negotiation

Curious how people are handling pricing at this stage with their dealer when MB has not finalized pricing yet.

Dealer 1 (my dealer) told me final pricing will be available end of July and we can talk $$$ then. I think he is trying to get me emotionally vested by then so I would not negotiate much.

Dealer 2 told me that we can finalize a certain % off or a fixed amount off the MSRP at this point and order the car.

I think Dealer 2 is making more sense. The pricing on the DOG that I posted yesterday should be the final pricing. I think the only possible difference would be if they go and realign the packages again.

2017 GLC Ordered and Close to Delivered

Yes, It is a little strange as I have not received actual price from dealer yet.... My dealer showed me all the options ordered on order form, and I looked at pricing in the 2017 order guide that someone here was nice enough to post, so I kind of estimated the price. It looks roughly the same as the 2016 although maybe a few hundred $ more.

Dealer has assured me that it is on its way to the US, and will be at dealer next week so we will see.... I am suppose to pick it up July 25 since I am out next week.....

Yes I just noticed that the 6/30 order guide is quite a bit different than the 5/31 guide on the Packages (P2, P3, P4) - not sure what I am getting now as I was working off the 5/31 guide, but since my GLC was made 6/23 maybe they were using the 5/31 guide?

Hey jjt,

I sincerely hope you get ur ride as per the schedule. However, I sincerely doubt that it would be this soon. If you do, then MB has been bluffing about the US release date.

I am not aware of manufacturers starting production with a certain package structure and then changing it after one or two production cycles. But then I have never had a MB before.

Good Luck.

I did a line by line compare on the option packages and from what I can see, the only difference is they took out the Bermester sound option from P02 and made it a stand alone option and moved the LED Headlamps to P03. Those were the only two options in P02 so they just renamed the old P03 to P02 and the old P04 to P03. The end result is that if you want the Bermester now, it'll cost you $150 more than it would have when included in one of the option packages.

They eliminated the P02 with Burmester and LED. Made both stand alone options. Burmester is $850 and LED is $850.

They didn't move the LED's to P03. The LED's in the new P03, is the Dynamic LED's.

So you use to be able to get Burmester and LED in the P02 for $1500. Now they cost $850 each.

I would say Dealer 2 is right. Would definitely not recommend waiting till the actual pricing is available. % discount is the way to go right now, that's what I did and I know others have taken this route. All said, I've ran my build on all versions of the DOG that have been made available so far and there is almost no difference in pricing. Still, better to have a % discount figured out upfront. I also did an agreement with my dealer saying if the actual price turns out to be more than 2% above the current 2016 pricing, I have the right to pull out from buying the GLC and getting my deposit back. the fact that they agreed suggests they are not expecting the price to change much either. Just an added protection you could consider.

Thanks. The pricing will definitely not change. MB can not release prices to customers to motivate them to order and then revise the prices., Worst case, the packages will get reshuffled. However, I do not expect that to happen. The closer we crawl towards July end, unlikely that pricing or package structure will change.

So we discuss a % off MSRP. What is a decent % amount ? .... he is giving me 7% off ..... saying that it is the mark up.
With the new reduced price, he is adding the transportation and advertising fee, $900 and $700, respectively. We will then add TTL.

I had a conversation with my dealer on this as mu build week got pushed from last week (originally) to the week of 7/25. The way I understand it, the actual manufacturing of the vehicle to your spec doesn't depend on how MB packages the option selection for us. So technically, they could have completed building our cars even without the package structure finalized. However, they wouldn't ship it from there until the final pricing and DOG is released in the US. So yes, it does make me doubt that the car can actually be here by 25-July as my SA told me that the earliest 2017 GLC order that they had was also pushed out for production. Now the reason for production getting pushed out could be anything from components availability to too many orders in the queue causing delays, as it was told to me.

All said, I really hope for the best for you jtt and for all of us. Keep us updated. I hope you get it soon. Would be very excited to know that the 2017 vehicles have started moving.
