foamy windshield washer spray

A combination of factors has my wife complaining about the mess left when using the windshield washers. The wiper doesn't clear far enough to the left, and the spray is rather foamy which leaves a lot of residue. Has anyone tried using different fluid to help with this? Has anyone noticed this issue? Any suggestions?

the wiper travel can easily be adjusted by benz

never heard of foamy windshield fluid ... Maybe introducing air into the system and foaming it up

have you tried putting your own fluid in it? MB uses a screen before the pump, so if you tried putting some aftermarket/bug remover crap in, that will gum it up and MB will not warranty any repairs on the washer system. How far is it stopping to the left? when they are in the rest position, there are very small lines on the windshield that they should line up with. If they are too low, they can be adjusted up. If they aren't then they are wiping correctly.

also the washer fluid is supposed to be slightly foamy because once it helps clean the windscreen better.

No I haven't put anything else in it, but I was considering doing that to try to help it. It was just washed so I don't really want to use the washers to take pictures until it needs it. My question would be, should I just maybe add some water to dilute the solution some or try some other fluid?

Oh btw, I had it in for service yesterday because my gas GLC was fitted with a diesel fuel cap, and I wanted it switched out. While I was there I asked them about the washer issue (per my wife's request... I gave her a lot of eye-rolling when she complained to me about it) and the tech said he tested it and it was working normally. While I was there the service adviser told me they had a gas c class that was also fitted with a diesel cap and an employee had put diesel in it as a result. She said Mercedes was giving them crap about the warranty claim for having to flush the fuel system because they didn't believe the wrong cap was on it.

That's ridiculous about the gas cap! But as far as the washer fluid is concerned, stick with the Benz stuff. You can try to dillute. That may help but it may become less effective at cleaning. The rainx/aftermarket crap is garbage and if/when it gums up you'll be paying Benz a lot to flush your system

i wouldn't do anything until you know what's going on - take it in or visualize what your wife is seeing first

it takes two seconds to wipe down the car after you spray the windshield , lol

I see what she is complaining about, doing a wash on my windshield leaves a streak an inch or so unwiped, and the wash gets pulled back with the blade maybe another inch or so. Doing the same on her car leaves maybe two to three inches unwiped, and then of course the foam gets pulled back about an inch or so leaving a wider stripe of foam. It seems an awfully nit-picky thing to complain about, and not really a huge problem IMHO. I'll probably just add a little water after a few weeks or months and see if that helps.
