I have had several cars with MB Tex. It has worn like iron. Hard to tell if this is a defect or is due to abrasive phenomena. If you have a good relationship with your dealer, they will take care of it. A great example is my wife got a bird stuck between the radiator and front grill and nasty splatter. The dealer took care of it no charge.
