Service A reset
Ive searched the threads and Googled it but no luck for the GLC, I have tried a couple other models but no joy.
Doors and hood closed
Ign to position 1, just one step from full off
Set to basic mileage display with trip meter.
Press "accept call" button on steering wheel, followed by "OK" button within 1 second afterward and hold until menu pops up.
Then go to assyst plus, follow prompts for reset.
i use the other method; take car to dealer, pay them to do the service and maintain my digital service record, get the service indicator disabled.
If you wanted to be diligent and perform the full service yourself, or pay another shop to do the oil change and hope they inspect and do the other things related to the service, there should still be a simple way to reset it. We at the dealer use this same method, we don't go in and reset with the SDS, it's not necessary as we are using the correct oil the system is calibrated for.
Yes, the R button is on the right and when I cycle through the menu I cannot even display the mileage screen.
My vehicle is a 2004 CLK 320 with a more complicated sequence steps.
Even following the manual does not work for service A.
I was able to reset the oil message a month ago after using the suggested MB oil.
Maybe the reset procedure changed with the 2004 model evolution? Still LOST.
Thanks again

Works just fine. Changed oil at 1k. Would never even think to have a dealer change the oil as most are incompetent. I will probably change in another 5k but, the reset won't be required at that point. I also bled the brakes which had a suprising amount of air in system considering factory fill and changed the front and rear diff fluid. Total spent ~$100 and about 1.5 hours of work.
