After-market Winter Rims - Help!

I'm trying to get a set of after market winter rims and tires after losing control on light snow last week. Thankfully, the electronic stability took over and straightened the vehicle out.

Has anyone fitted non-OEM rims onto this vehicle (GLC 300 4matic)?
The stock OEM rims for a 18 inch wheel are 8.0x18 with offset of 38mm
I'm looking to fit a 8.0x18 with offset of 42mm. Does anyone have experience with this? Will there be a problem? This vehicle is new that many rim manufactures have not fit tested their rims yet.

Thanks guys.

Should be fine. The wheels will be tucked an additional 4mm. I cannot believe that will be enough to create any rubbing issues, or even make a noticeable difference in appearance. You could fix that with spacers, but going with a lower numerical offset will push the wheels out without the need for spacers. I went with +32mm on 19" x 8.5" wheels for our winter setup. My wheels will have essentially the same clearance on the inside, but the extra 1/2" in width will push them out about 12mm more than your stock 18" setup. Just make sure you have the correct lug pattern and center bore.
