No guarantee this will fix the issue based on comments from other owners. Also, why should you be forced to use AW tyres whose performance from March to November will be worse. After all, this is supposed to be a performance SUV!!

Besides in what now becomes Mercedes tradition, yup you guessed it. They have no all season tyres available. They also don't have the 20" wheels available. Grrrr

Yes agree the fitting of AW tyres is hardly the solution we've been waiting for, well those of us who have 20' wheels or less. Are MB suggesting those with 21' wheels get a free set of smaller wheels and tyres? The sales chap at Mercedes Edinburgh is sympathetic to my and other owners issues on this and have I obviously raised it but does anyone know what a Compass complaint is? Do I need to escalate my complaint to get AW tyres if that is ultimately the only option on offer?

Oliver, you should just be able to go back to the dealers and tell them that you have the issue. They should then fit all weather tyres free of charge when available, you don't need to raise a compass complaint as the dealers are now aware.

Thanks Phil- I already have Pirelli Scorpion Verde 255/45 R20, non runflat, tyres on the car- are these not all season or all weather tyres already? If so the the crabbing issue is still present with these tyres so a tyres swap isn't likely to fix the issue.

Yes, I've got those tyres and assume they're all season. And the car clonks on lock so it's plainly not a fix.

I spoke to my dealer to see what they want to offer as a deal to upgrade my car to a GLE. They have come back with a Cost to change value of around £8K.. So I said, go back and think otherwise I am rejecting the car as there is no fix for 21" available. If I walk away from this Car, this will be my last MB. Told them so too. Lets see what they come back with.

Yes Oliver they are all season, you could always ask for non run flat all weathers to see if that makes any difference, the plot thickens.

So now we know that it is technically impossible not to have this issue. Well not unless Mercedes has been holding back further information.
As such I find it fascinating that there are those who say they don't have the issue. Very interesting indeed.

I have asked MB Cust Service to provide the data from DEKRA that proves that the car is safe to drive on the tyres it came on. If they don't, I am going for the rejection. MB have totally screwed this.

Perhaps all new right hand drive GLCs are being fitted with AW tyres as standard now- i.e. to mask the issue rather than resolve it.
Interested to find out what tyres are fitted on new deliveries- If summer tyres and no crabbing have Mercedes found a fix but not offering to existing owners as too expensive to retro fix......?
