The first thing I noticed as I drove away from the dealer wast how different the suspensión is from my GLC 250D with airbody control + 19" non-runflat.
Notwithstanding the later posts, I'd value your further impressions. Your comparisons are a rare opportunity to hear from someone who has driven quite a few different configurations. thatkidfromjrsy is right that it depends very much where you're coming from, but you're coming from other MB, which is why your comments are so helpful.
You guys I'm sure you understand that ride is completely subjective..
I'll add that I went from a fairly stock 2017 MY C300 loaner to the GLC43 with 21 inch run flats. The difference is negligible (I couldn't tell). I had to drive to a dealership in Rocklin near Sacramento from the Bay Area with the loaner then switched to the GLC43 and drove 100+ miles back.
The whole car feels so much more solid on the road than the C300.
I bought my GLC43 without a test drive - I only test drive a GLC300. My car was custom to order.
After reading earlier posts on this forum I had been concerned while awaiting my car's delivery that the 21 inch wheels with run flats would be a harsh ride - this seemed to be largely speculative from owners with smaller wheels.
It's hard to find GLC43s on lots to test drive - let alone find a dealership with two GLCs with different wheel sizes.
There are probably some forum readers who needlessly passed on 21 inch wheels - which look great - because of this inaccurate speculation.
sure where possible do a test drive - but my 21 inch rims feel smooth even here in potholed California

Cool. The important thing here is that you enjoy your ride. This is what it's all about. Enjoy your ride and like your wheels. That's perfect.
At the end, as other people have stated, it is all about perception and experiences. If after a few hundred miles you where to jump into the exactly same car with 19" and non-runflats... believe me you will notice. Maybe to worse or maybe to better. That's very personal.
Hey guys just swapped out terrible oem runflats for continental extreme contact dws06 . The guy at the tire place said that the rear tires didn’t come in the original size 285/40/r20 that he didn’t recommend my choice. The new tires are 275/40/r20. Do you think that 10mm narrower would make any difference to the vehicle’s all wheel drive system like he said it would. I can’t believe it would. What say you.

The narrower width shouldn't make much of a difference, in handling or elsewhere. But diameter might be a problem. Your front 255/45/R20 tires are roughly 29.04" in diameter. The standard rear 285/40/R20 would be roughly 28.98" in diameter, or .06" smaller). However, with the same aspect ratio (40), that means your 275/40/R20 tires are about 28.66" in diameter or .38" smaller in diameter than the fronts. That's getting to the limit (probably over it) of recommendation for differences in front to rear tires, especially with 4MATIC. I kinda have to agree with the tire guy, and might have searched for a closer combination.
I have a 2017 C43 with 225/40 R19's. I don't care about the ride comfort my biggest problem is the flats. Every freakin pothole destroys the tire. I'm looking at trading it in for a 2020 GLC300. There are a few tire options
I want something that looks nice but more importantly will deal with potholes reasonably well. It doesnt have to be perfect just better than a new tire every few months. I think option 3 above is out, its another low profile. I'm leaning towards option 2 because I really like the grill with the AMG look. Does anyone have any experience or opinion on how well those tires will hold up?

I have the 19" wheels (your package #2) and live in an area with very poor roads. I hit a lot of potholes, on a daily basis. There's just no way around it here.
I've not had a pothole cause a flat. I did have to replace the tires at just under 29000 miles for wear.
