Are you sure they are ventilated?

Actually just noticed that another member here MercedesTheBest has them. some pictures of their car show a button beside the heated seat button.

Caveat: Not in Canada. FWIW, when I placed my first order, they weren't available. By the time it showed up, they were available, so I declined that vehicle and ordered another. The first order was placed in September and vented seats were on the option list but as the order was entered by the dealer, it said not available. Then when that car showed up in December, we looked again, and they were available, so I placed a second order at the end of January and its on the truck to the dealer now, with vented seats (option code 401 in the US).

As I said, tho, I'm not in Canada. In Texas, so, yeah, vented seats were important to me. I changed a few other things on the second order too after I had time to think.

The MB option code/description is "401 - FRONT SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL" (SA Code).

Maybe you can request a build with the option added (before build freeze date), but it seems that not all options are available in all countries due to the fact that Mercedes-Benz have a different list of packages/options for the car on offer to each country.

Thanks jeffzzz. Same code here in Canada but looks like i would have to upgrade to leather seats as well... Wife just shot down that so i guess no ventilated seats for me... oh well summers are too short here in Toronto anyways.

to get ventilated seats you need leather seats. you need both the options to get them. but yes, they are available in Canada as i have them. but i was forced to get the leather option, it was worth it though as it also makes the dash and doors nicer.

Not really impressed with ventilated seats.

With setting on max. can barely discern airflow.

That seems to be the case with most MB ventilated seats. In the W211 forums, and maybe others, there are DIY's to make the ventilation more effective. Basically swapping bigger fans. I've found that to at least keep a dress shirt from sweating out they are just sufficient.

i like them when I'm warm, its enough to keep my back and butt from sweating and i can feel the coolness. i was underwhelmed when i first used them, but they are much better then the nothing i have in my 1995 SL. that car needs ventilated seats.

Having just picked up our GLC in December, we haven't had a chance to use ours yet. But we played with them during our late summer test drives, and found them to be ok, but far from great. Surprisingly, the Lincoln MKC we drove had cooled seats, which made a BIG difference in comfort. Even though we only need them a few months out of the year, I wish Benz offered such a thing in the GLC.

Sorry, I don't know the technical details. The Lincoln Sales Consultant didn't tell us much other than to explain that they operate independent of the HVAC system. It was a warm day, and he took advantage of the opportunity to emphasize the distinction between ventilated and cooled.
