i think he means if the car is locked, is there a way so that the trunk opening button on the remote control doesn't open the trunk.

they just need to learn how to ask a question in english.

if that is what they mean, then no there isn't.

Well technically there is........
if the key fob is disabled the trunk opening button won't work.

Dear decorily,

Can you please elaborate how to "disable the fob" so that the trunk opening button on the remote won't work ? Will it disable the door lock and unlock buttons also ?

I understand by pressing the door lock button twice on the remote, the car will lock and "Keyless Go" function will stop function until the car is unlocked again. Is that what you meant by "disable the fob" ?

I would like to disable only the trunk button on the remote, permanently. I must be old-school. I only want "power assist" opening the trunk when I lift the handle on the tailgate; and "power assist" closing the trunk when I push the close button on the tailgate.

I am afraid I would accidentally "fat finger" and hit the tailgate open button while the vehicle is parked inside my very tight garage. The tailgate would hit my garage door from inside (if the garage is already closed).

I have the same wish as the original poster. I would like to disable only the trunk button on the remote. I must be old-school. I only want "power assist" opening the trunk when I lift the handle on the tailgate; and "power assist" closing the trunk when I push the close button on the tailgate.

The trunk opening height in my coupe is programmable, meaning I can program it to stop lower than full opening - maybe that's a solution for you?

Dear zhenyaf,

Thanks for your reply. I am looking for a solution to permanently disable the "remote tailgate open" button on the remote. I have clarified my question in my post.

there isn't a way to do it.

you could always open up the FOB and remove the button. not sure what the inside looks like, but typically the button you see is a cover over a physical button. if you removed that part the FOB would look the same but then that button would be a "blank."

You have to press and hold the button for the tailgate to open rather than just punching it once like the lock/unlock functions....so this is somewhat of a built in safety feature....also

Tailgate obstacle detection with reversing feature

Vehicles with remote tailgate closing:

The tailgate is equipped with automatic obstacle
detection with reversing feature. If a solid object
blocks or restricts the tailgate when automatically
opening, this procedure is stopped.

If a solid object blocks or restricts the tailgate when
automatically closing, the tailgate automatically
opens again slightly. The automatic obstacle
detection with reversing feature is only an aid. It
is not a substitute for your attentiveness when
opening and closing the tailgate.
