GLK Conversion Therapy ?

I am and have been a very happy GLK owner for the past two years. In fact the GLK has grown on me even more with it's smooth V6, loads of power, solid construction and great highway mileage (I know that is not supposedly true but for me great). My small issues: jumpy back suspension that can feel as if the back end is skipping a bit to the right or left over potholes and speed bumps. And it's consistent. The interior is black,black,blackhole-ish for such a small interior so I vowed to lighten up next car. MB has never been a wizard with the layout of the dashboards but the GLC sure is pretty inside and their simplification of controls looks really nice. Decided against all my GLK admiration to test drive a GLC 300 and placed an order on the spot. It felt completely different and yet familiar at the same time.
- Build quality felt far better.
- The small increase in width and length can really be felt.
- The "no sharp angles" gives off an inviting cocoon effect inside and the soft touch everything is a quality booster against my GLK rock hard plastics.
- The side mirrors are larger and taller for better rearward vision (finally).
- I found the suspension to be a touch more compliant and more refined. No "skipping" was noticeable.
- My biggest worry...a turboized 4 cylinder engine....which while feeling buzzier was certainly powerful enough on the highway. In fact power came on faster than my 6 cylinder.

Order: GLC300 Iridium silver, Night package, LED Intelligent lighting, silk beige MB leather (no real leather with 2 dogs), Intelligent Drive package, Command System, optioned a black roof liner and the beautiful pale wood inlays and the silver/black 19" duel 5 spoke wheels. I really liked the cool silver, black accents and contrasty beige/black interior. Coming mid-July 2017...
So hello GLC and hello GLK as we are keeping it as a foul weather friend and storing the E350 for our savage winter. Such a super forum!

Little more than a GLC300 but similar to a GLC43.

I usually achieve 450-500km a tank on premium. If I do a lot of highway I get closer to 650km a tank. I think that's pretty amazing for the first generation V6/276HP engine. I got it 4 years used lightly with only 60,000km/ 37,000 miles on the odom. I heard the 2012 and newer GLKs did better. I would love it if the GLC could beat that.

Well if you're getting the four-cylinder GLC300 I think it's definitely possible that you'll beat that. I think I have the same generation V6 in the E350 but with D.I. so boosted to 302hp/273lb-tq. and that engine gets me up to 28-32mpg on a good day on long trips, so they are definitely capable engines.
