I know this is going to sound crazy, but I think it's "the machine that goes bing" If you stick your head down there and cycle the ignition a few times to set off the chime it's quite loud and seems to be coming from that speaker. I'm guessing it does other things as well.

BINGO that's it. I feel the speaker vibrate on the opening 'DONG'...YEAH, thank you for solving the mystery.

A pretty large speaker for such a simple job as Bing and Dong........just saying.

Could have been better put to use as a subwoofer for what it is worth...

Safety chime speakers have to be kept separate from speakers that output music.

That speaker in question also beeps really loudly when Collision Prevention Assist Plus kicks in.

How come the center dash looks so big however only install 4" speaker? may I install larger one ?

has anyone try Dynaudio for the front door and tweeters? I would like to know which one is suitable for our car. It seems so many types could be chosen.
