Phone Connect Order

So, I would think that when one presses the start engine button, the connect process commences. How does the vehicle determine which phone to connect then? Is it by alphabetical order of the phone name? If so, I guess one has to change the phone name (I think one can go to the phone and do it there??)
Is there another solution?
The basic question is: How can one control which phone connects when there is more than one in the vehicle?

TIA
- you cannot specify a default phone or set a pairing priority in the COMAND system
- the car will pair with the first phone that it detects within range when the car is turned on
What I still don't understand
- what is the pairing order if the car sees two phones at the same time? I know fabbrisd1 says it will try for the last phone connected, but I'm not convinced that is true. Sometimes it seems random whether the car goes for my phone or my wife's if we get in the car at the same time.
The first was after we picked up the car and my wife was in the Volvo in front of me and the GLC connected to her phone, not mine since she was the last to drive.
The second time is when my wife and I were in the GLC backing out of the garage and it started to play music from my daughter's phone while she was in her bedroom on the 2nd floor! She was the last to drive the GLC.
Also amazing the range the blutooth connection has!
