P3 value

I am still debating value of the p3 package. None of the glc s I have seen have the package. Do any of you that have it find it valuable?

Active LED headlamps - this is an awesome feature - driving at night the lights are extremely bright and when turning they turn it is really nice - i cannot compare the standard GLC, just comparing to other autos i have driven

Distronic plus this is a very cool feature, i use it as much as i can, definitely eliminates tedium of stop and go traffic - i can see this being used a lot (surprisingly in the city as well!)

Active Blind Spot Assist - the light steering wheel thump when drifting across lanes is a nice feature, but i believe the beep when trying to change lanes when a car is there is already part of a lower package, to me the beep is more useful;

Speed Limit Assist - having signs on the nav screen is a cool feature

Cabin fragrance system - not used yet, i cant imagine i will use it a lot (especially not with fragrance costing $100 each) - seems kind of pointless

the other features seem to be in case of emergency so i cant say i experienced them (cross-wind assist as an example seems pretty useless) though when i took my first test drive someone did cut in front me of me and the car applied the brakes itself - was comforting for sure

when shopping i was able to get a P3 for a few hundred more than a P2 at a different dealer. nice features, it is hard to say its worth $3600 - sems high. but then again all the features are designed to keep you safe, so if in a situation and it saves an accident well worth it i guess.

I have a 2016. I have everything that is in the p3. It is well worth it especially the active LEDs. If you order an 18 the packaging will be different.

Yes I was definitely getting the lighting pkg. For the active leads but it was the driver active assist features I wasn't sure about.

Love the drivers assist. I ordered my car specifically so I would have it. Also need Burmester.

is the Burmester that much better than the base radio? i never really spent much time with the base radio

(regardless of sound, the metal grills are worth the price alone.... i think they really make the interior pop!)

Burmester sounds much better than the base radio. Agree metal grills look great.

I also ordered with P3 and agree with all of these points. Active LED headlamps and distronic plus cruise control alone make the package worth it.

Flicka, if you're looking for a '17 with a P3, it's gonna be hard to find. I guess it depends on the market but when I was looking, VERY few P3's were available anywhere in the country.
Like Dieseldoc said, if you're ordering one now, it will be an '18 and you need to study the MY 2018 DOG (Dealer Ordering Guide). The packages are very different than the '17's but you can still get pretty much the same things that are in the '17 P3, but it will be several packages combined with maybe a few standalone options you might want. You might want to ask specific questions if you are planning on ordering. Since I think MB is still showing the '17 on their online configurator, you would need to see a dealer to do an '18 build. Messing with the '17 online is a waste of time until it's updated.
There is a link to the GLC 300 '18 DOG in a thread on the first page of this forum. Sorry but I don't know how to add to this thread and it's too late to figure that out now.

Thank you, yes I have seen the new guide and I have ordered an '18 with just about everything except leather, heated seats and sport. Build is scheduled for end of August so I think I could still remove options if not necessary. I think my build is now at $58k. Biggest questions were the pluses and minuses of ABC and the active assist parts of the old p3 package.

Just wondering, was your '18 build priced in the MB system or is the $58K based on '17 pricing?

New '18 pricing the dealer gave me, only 3 items not priced 266, 269, 271. Couldn't figure out what they were, only know that the black ash wood trim not listed.

On my 2017 build 266, 269 and 271 are included under the P03 package and NOT priced separately:
266=DISTRONIC PLUS with steering assist
269=Factory code for DISTRONIC
271=PRE-SAFE PLUS

As for your trim, I would think it should be on there somerwhere. I'm getting Burled Walnut and it is listed by itself with a code of 731.

That's weird because it has distronic listed as 233. I will check with the dealer about the black wood trim.

233 : DISTRONIC PLUS (with PRE-SAFE Brake) is listed as part of P3 on mine too, as well as the 266 code mentioned above. Maybe you MAY or may NOT get Steering Assist AND PRE-SAFE Brake with DISTRONIC PLUS, depending on how your car is optioned. Looks like you have both features.
