GLC TPMS
I was expecting a ABS-sensing kind of TPMS for my GLC but when I took delivery of my GLC with 19" RFT option wheels (without TIREFIT/Jack) , the TPMS seem to be those that have a sensor unit installed in each wheel and all 4 wheels have their individual pressure displayed.
Anyone here have non-RFT wheels specced from factory that comes with TIREFIT/Jack? What kind of TPMS is yours?

The ABS sensing system you are referring to is called Tire Pressure Loss Warning System (TPLWS). From what I've been told, the system they use will depend on production cycle. As like you, my GLC was suppose to come with TPLWS as per Canadian specs but it was built with TPMS.

I'm picking up mine next week. From the build sheet my SA sent me, it had code 475 - TPMS. I believe code 477 is TPLWS.
Kind of a pain in the butt because now I have to buy another set of sensors for winter tires which I believe cost about $300+ CDN
Also, easiest way to check which system you have is look at the tire valve stem. Metal stem will mean you have sensors.

Are you buying wheels also or just changing tyres?
both, wheels and tires so will need second set of sensors.

Let me explain it further, my thinking is that if the GLC is equipped with RFT, it makes more practical sense for a more detailed individual pressure readings for each wheels. Reason being, RFT will not show any external signs of pressure loss (ie. steering pull, deflated look) until it is too late? So a more detailed warning system (ie. TPMS) will allow early pressure lost to be looked into before it gets worse.
I would have thought TPLWS will be less sensitive since is it base on estimate/calculations off the ABS system.
Any thoughts?

GLC in Oz only come with TP warning systems, not sure re 43 version, but GLC 250d in wagon and Coupe cannot read individual rims. Poor decision by MB Oz to not offer TPMS as a feature, Warning system not accurate enough, tyre already below critical pressure, increasing damage before warning alert is activated.
I asked my MB rep whether the tire pressure loss gave a general warning or indicated which tire was soft and he stated it was a general loss of pressure as the 4matic system would sense wheel rotation difference. Just this past week, a nail was residing comfortably in the groove of my now 6 year old rear tire, the leak was slow (weeks/months?) and the GLK display flashed in red warning me. I initially did not see/feel the nail, added air and reset the system. 4 days later same warning again...tire to be fixed. No indication of which tire was affected though as the 4Matic could sense it, why not just tell me? Proper sensors would have been preferred.
I have a coupe but mine shows an SUV which I found a bit odd.
