2018 GLC Order Guide

Newbie here -- just ordered 2018 GLC -- and have been reading a lot from this forum.

Realized I have the dealer order guide and can't find it on the forums so I thought I'd share. This version is up-to-date as of end-of-June

Thanks for that. Helps me understand if I can get what I want after MB messed with all the interior combinations. If I get AMG line I can't get the Saddle Brown anymore, but it appears I can get the designo Platinum white without being forced to get P2 or P3, which would have been a deal breaker for me.

Also the mystery of the "full" AMG front may be clearer now, only the Night package specifically mentions the front wing.

The US builder is up. Looks like MB has sealed the deal in making me buy a X3.

Despite saying the Night package has a "front wing", the graphic in the builder now shows NO wing for either AMG line or Night package:

And since they removed all the colored interior options for those of us with AMG line and so only like black leather to snort our cocaine off of, I opted for designo Platinum White and found that you can't get a heated steering wheel with it!

Maddening, i agree, but frankly a simple business decision based on projected demand of certain feature combinations. Can't make 100% of potential buyers happy. i had a similar problem. Wanted espresso brown interior and 20" multi-spoke wheels, which requires AMG line. No deal, had to switch to black interior.

Thing is, Audi and BMW are not doing this. All colors are available, even with "performance appearance" packages.

And they give you a heated steering wheel with any interior.

And their websites correctly display all options.

Only the first are (bad) business decisions, the other is just incompetence. Sometimes you make options available not because they make money, but because you don't want to lose a customer to another brand. I think that is the sole reason the mid-size truck segment exists, because otherwise manufacturers appear to hate that market.

EDIT: I suspect the heated steering wheel is also incompetence, not a decision, since there is no difference between the wheels used. They had the same issue last year with the Saddle Brown interior. Some one finally realized it's the same black wheel and now you can get with that interior.

Write to Mercedes USA and let them know. If enough people do they might remove these arbitrary restrictions.

I'd like to say that in today's world of choose and click shopping, having an option you know is available 'greyed out' does not go over well with consumers. Perhaps their marketing people should reflect on this.

i understand the value of limiting options for ease of planning and manufacturability, but on a car that the average selling price is probably in excess of $50k i find it rather surprising
