In possession of 2018 GLC43 SUV

Picked up my GLC43 SUV last Friday afternoon (arrived at dealer on Thursday). Don't know if the multiple emails I sent to MBUSA executives had anything to do with it arriving, but glad it did. Well worth the wait. Also, I received a personal phone call from CEO/President of MBUSA apologizing for the delay and thanking me for my patients. Personally, I think this says a lot about the leadership at MBUSA to take the time to follow up with me. Never was able to get an answer to what specific modification caused the delay.

Hi guys,

Ive had my GLC43 for about 4 weeks and i just received a call from MB saying that they need the car back to change the front air suspension struts. Its a factory directive. Apparently there are a few GLC43's affected.. This may be the hold up for some of you.

My 43 was released from port today. Hoping it can get on a truck and be here within the next few days. Hoping that sheds some further relief for others who are waiting.

Tbro that is such great news. Really appreciate the update too. I was told the other day like you that my port release day is Sept 30, so hopefully mine moved up too and there will be two 43's on a truck to AZ!

I don't have a dog in this fight.....I got my GLC300 a couple of months ago. But I've been following the consternation you GLC43 guys and gals have been experiencing because I'm interested in how MB communicates and treats its customers. And feeling for you guys at the same time! BTW, this is my first MB so hence my interest.

I'm glad you finally got yours, parker19, but the phone call you received from the CEO of MBUSA hardly indicates to me what it did to you. Unless there's just a few PO'd GLC43 customers who are being unreasonable on this forum and everybody else got their 43's without all the delays and BS from their dealers, I am really disappointed that, for whatever reason, MB chose to create this huge cloak of mystery about all those 43's sitting at the VPC's or wherever.

I don't understand why they didn't just say, "there's a problem with the ECU's or a problem with the seatbelt pre-tensioners," etc, etc. Maybe I missed something along the way, but your last comment was even "never was able to get an answer to what specific modification caused the delay."

Just my two cents. This has been bugging me.

I'm plenty bugged too, trust me. Still can't believe MB told us nothing and we have to rely on rumor/speculation.

Aaaand now i'm waiting until Monday due to insurance shenanigans. I did get to touch my car today to verify it wasn't an apparition, that was a plus.

Tbro I may take you up on that offer this weekend! Just kidding. Yours looks great in white and I thought I read somewhere you have some long trips planned - exciting. I am trying to forget the long wait - these things happen and I am guessing for the 17's the modifications may have been more significant, because why would MB not want to release the 17's first from the VPC. I am really happy that you got yours and know mine will be here really soon now. Don't let the lack of communication from MB around our long waits ruin your awesome new car experience - having had a few MB's in the past, I speak from expereince that customer service is top notch.

Still no word on mine as of 9/26, and I'm in AZ too

I'm in the same boat, mine was delivered to VPC in Long Beach (they notified my 8/10) so maybe its taking a bit longer to load the "module" they are waiting for. It's comforting that other AZ folks already have theirs I'm giving it until the end of September, then I might just have to cancel the damn thing - this is getting ridiculous!

Your SA should be able to give you a VPC release date. Mine is 9/30, same that Tbro's was but his was released early. Hopefully you have a 9/30 release date too. If so, and released, we will have our cars next week.
