Another thread on RFT options. Seems like from your question you haven't looked through this forum much. You should. Lots of good info if you do a little research.

I will no longer consider Pirelli when shopping for tires.

What about road noise...? Especially vs stock, which I think are pretty quiet, altho wear rather fast it appears...

thx

In Pennsylvania a tire that has two adjacent treads with less than 2/32-inch tread remaining at any point, or a tire that is worn so that the tread wear indicators contact the road in any two adjacent grooves will not pass the annual safety inspection.

At 16K miles with tires properly inflated throughout, my 18" Pirellis are probably only 5K miles from failing the state safety inspection. Is it the tire manufacturer or that the tires are RFTs? I'm considering going back to Michelins even if I have to use non-RFTs.

None of the oem mercedes supplied tires come with any type of warranty. Go figure. Ours were worn out in 19,000 miles. Replaced them with Bridgestone DriveGuards from Americas Tires. 60,000 mile wear warranty and road hazard for $140.00 each out the door. They are RFT's

I personally think they are quieter and more importantly, handle better. Plus you have a warranty that’s worth something.
