Broken Front Lens on Foward 360 Camera

A stone must have hit my front camera because the spherical glass in front of the camera is broken. Apparently you have to replace the camera, not just the lens. The dealer wants $1207 installed (!). I found the OEM lens for ~$350 online.

Does anyone have instructions on how to replace the front camera or how to remove the grill on a standard GLC300? I would like to save over $800 and install the camera myself.

Thanks for any help.

PS - This is not covered by the warranty and insurance will treat it as a claim with impacts to my rates.

It should be covered under your comprehensive and should not increase your rates.

Deductible is $500, camera is around $350. I work on my own cars (pulling heads, changing coil overs, etc.) All I am asking for is if anyone has the instructions for pulling the grill.

Thanks - TJ

I skimmed through this video, but it looks to be accurate based on when I changed my grill.

Same thing just happened to my E class front camera. Do you have a link for where you sourced the replacement cam/ lens? How did it go? Let me know when you can.

I have a crack lens also. I just replace one, it is easy. 30-45 mins. will show you picture. get one from Ebay $70-80. However, now I face any other problem, Cameras not calibrated.

remove the top plastic cover by remving 3 plastic retainers.

cover removed

remove retainers

use T15, to remove the 2 screws holding the camera.

camera location, behind and at the bottom of the distance sensor (round big MB sign).

camera & mounting hardware
