GLC 300 coupe 4 cylinder power concern

I'm considering buying a 2018 GLC 300 coupe with the AMG styling. My biggest concern is that it's a 4 cylinder turbo and i currently drive a 6 cylinder infiniti QX70S. any feed back on motor performance would be greatly appreciated.

Have you driven one?

I don't care much for the 4 cyl in the SUVs but not everyone drives aggressively like me. It's got plenty of power and works just fine with the new 9 speed trans, but it's not a replacement for a bigger engine. Fortunately, you can also get a GLC with a larger engine.

Get the '43 model. It will make your Q70s seem slow by comparison.

2018 GLC300 4matic SUV
The engine is more than adequate for just about anyone. I've only wished for more power one time, when passing another car on a rural two-lane road in strong headwinds. Once I got around him and into the wind, hit 60-65 MPH, aerodynamic drag seemed to come into play and it took a split second longer to pass than I had been expecting.

I would like to have gotten a GLC43 but the cost was steep IMO and I didn't want to take a big hit on economy and depreciation.

My observation is my GLC 300 engine has plenty of power. And fuel mileage of 28.2 mpg at 81 mph over a distance of 500 miles is easy to live with.

This from a guy driving a 610 hp 7 liter V8 in a car weighing 2900 lbs.

I test drove both back-to-back and I'm in negotiations with a dealer on a 43. When I was searching for a 300, the AMG trim was also a must for me and I am only considering one color so it limited my options greatly. I found 3 of the 4 cyl models meeting my criteria within a 500 mile radius and they were well loaded. I was able to find a stripped down base model 43 in the color I want. Came out to a $115/month higher to lease it vs a glc300 amg with a $55k-$56k MSRP
