How do I access the amplifier in 2017 GLC 300?
After 11 months my amplifier went out and was replaced. A month later, it went out again and the dealership stated it was due to moisture and therefore will not cover it. I’d like to access the compartment after a car wash to check for water. How do I acces it?

On my 16 GLC my audio became inop. Service determined the amplifier, located in the liftgate, was bad. They replaced it iaw the warranty.
I would challenge the dealer concerning their decision not to repair via warranty.
An electronic component should not be located where its susceptible to water intrusion. The fact the amp. is wet indicates to me there may be a deficiency in adjacent body seam sealant. Or perhaps a seal is missing/misaligned. Further, the failure mode is not a result of anything you may have done.
Failure mode in this case cannot be determined by just looking at the component. Disassembly on a hot mockup is the only way to determine what caused the failure.
The wet amp. is but the symptom. The problem is why did it get wet.
The dealer needs to determine what is causing the area where the amp. is mounted to get wet and fix it. And then replace the amp. - under warranty. Otherwise you'll be returning repeatedly for a new amp.
Don't allow the dealer to screw you over. Stand your ground!!!

Same problem
Hi. My 2017 GLC 300 amp also stopped working and was told by the dealership that it was due to water penetration and not covered by warranty. They are quoting $2,200 for the replacement. Was your situation ever resolved?

^^ so how did the water get in there? Were the windows closed? Did the vehicle go white water rafting? Seems to me if this was just rain getting in, with windows and sun roof closed, then you never had a watertight vehicle to begin with and that should get fixed under warranty. Maybe call MB Service Care and see what they say...
