2019 Benz GLC300 without distronic front star emblem removal help needed

Hello, everybody. I recently picked up a 19' GLC300 with the AMG and night package. I was trying to take off the front star emblem, as the title says my glc does not have the distronic feature on the emblem. I saw on a few posts that you have to twist the star counter clockwise and that should release the latch for the star. However, it doesn't seem to work for my GLC and that leads me to believe it isn't how it works. Can somebody kindly give me instructions on how to do the removal process? No where on the internet shows me the specifics for a GLC. Thanks!

I am in the same situation. Same package. Tried turning the emblem counter clockwise but it did not budge. Did not want to try using more force without figuring out if I was doing it right. Tried looking up YouTube but did not find anything related to GLC 300 emblem removal. Hope to hear from someone on the forum with insight.

Are you trying to remove the center star to install an illuminated one? If so, where did you find it? I have been wanting to do the illuminated star upgrade.

Yeah, I bought the illuminated star from a reputable seller off Ebay and installed it through the fuse box. Works like a charm

Hello all. I, too. would like to install illuminated star. It would be for my son's GLC 300 Coupe. Does not have Distronic. Dealer quoted me ~$800!! They told me I needed the Star, a wiring harness and labor to install and program.

Was thinking of trying to do it myself. Does anyone have any input? Hate working on a brand new car! Does it really need programmed? Possibly to only come on at certain times?

Thank you.

There is no programming that I'm aware of on the dealer installed star, it ties into the fusebox on a certain bus bar so it only has power when needed, the ground is a simple connection anywhere convenient, the normal ground point on the fender well area works fine. They do remove by turning but are usually quite tight, don't be afraid to twist it hard, it will come out.

Thanx, Italian joe.

I found several videos explaining how to wire into the fuse box. However, none of them offer a diagram of my particular box on the 2019 GLC 300 coupe. nor am I able to discern where to connect it (which bus) by the fuse location diagram included with the vehicle

would anybody be able to tell me the location to attach the wire to? I assume it would be near next to the headlight fuse, but I can’t figure that out. I would only like it to come on at night time if possible

Hi Friend.

Recently I also ordered one illuminated emblem from the website (Same model with you-GLC300 2019). But still looking for how to fix it.
As my knowledge search from youtube and some other website. The safest way is directly connected to the fuse box.
Another way is we could connect to the headlight wire. But there have two different colors in my car. (red and brown)

So far I don't know each color meaning for. If someone could help me answer this question. I can do it myself. And will share it with you guys.

Ever since I got my illuminated bow tie for my truck, my wife has wanted an illuminated star for our MB GLC300. My bow tie connects to the left headlight assembly, works only with parking/head lights, not DRL. Can't believe that the manufacturer didn't design a jumper to go from the parking/head light to it.
