Unable to Program Garage Door

Unable to Program Garage Door
Hi,
Has anyone has any issues programing their garage door remote into the car?
I go through the steps, pressing the button, having it learn, and the confirmation light going green. But upon trying to use the garage door button on the vehicle if fails to open. This is for a commercial roll up gate so it doesn't do rolling codes etc. On the remote codes are programmed via dip switches under the cover. My other vehicles controlled the gate, ie Audi, and Acura.

1. Erase all codes in the Mirro System - hold button 1&3 down for about 45sec until indicator light turns color - with codes erased you are back at 1st step
2. 2nd step - in the morning - call Homelink Customer Service (800) 355-3515 with yr/model Mercedes and Model # of your roll up gate controller - morning is best for shorter wait time to speak to one of their experience customer service agents

I had the same problem with my wife's GLC. The instructions provided in the owner's manual are not correct. I ended up calling Homelink Customer Service. Here's the instructions they gave me that worked:
- If not already cleared, clear out the memory by continuously holding the 2 outer buttons. Once the light turns green, release the buttons.
- Pick which one of the three buttons will be used to open the garage. Press that button once (like a doorbell). The light should blink yellow/amber.
- Next, hold down the button of the garage remote close to the mirror. Do not press down any of the buttons on the mirror. The light should begin blinking green.
- Then, press the learn button on the garage door opener. Within 30 seconds, press the same button on the mirror that will be used to open the garage. The garage door should then be responding to the Homelink button.

On Rich's posted instructions above - on Step 4 - after "Learn Mode " is open on the garage opener - sometimes it takes 2-3 repeated firm presses of programmed Mirror Button to setup/work the 1st time.

The sender box wouldn't communicate with homelink, an antenna was fitted to the sender box in the garage in order for it to work, this was on a land rover which also use homelink. As I said not ALL doors work with homelink, the have to have specific frequencies to work and mine didn't.

2019 GLC300 4matic
i had to call Homelink Support line to help me get my MY2019 GLC300 programed. It was a very quick and successful call. BUT I then tried to use it with the car not running and the garage door wouldn't open. I turned the car on and the Homelink button worked. I called the support line back. She said, yes, MB has programed Homelink to work only when car is running. So I will revert back to using my Liftmaster remote hooked to my visor. Not impressed.

When pulling into my garage, I either press the button on the mirror to close the door immediately after pulling in, or more often than not, I press the Start button to turn my car off and THEN, as Sig said, press the button to close my door BEFORE opening the driver door.
BTW, you can use the same process to raise or lower your windows without the car running. When I bring Chinese home, for instance, I’ll lower my windows in the garage to air it out, BEFORE opening my door which kills your ability to lower the windows. Note, the passenger door does NOT kill the Accessory state. Just the drivers door.
Try it and throw that remote in a kitchen drawer where it belongs!

Common problem for new owners, including me. After whining about it to my salesperson, he said he would come to my home and program it. But before he could make it my software engineer son showed up and got it working in something like three minutes.
