Collision Prevention
Has anyone “tested” the collision prevention feature of the GLC 300 either intentionally or not (hopefully the former)? Have seen the YouTube videos and was just curious what it was really like.

"Yes" - I have been in several hands-on factory demos of Collision Prevention Assist + at speeds 30-35mph heading to a foil-wrapped/foam block wall.
Frankly - Collision Prevention Assist is designed to react for you - in potential collision situations when you don't have time to react - yes - it stopped in each test before Collision - close but prevented the Collision ..

My GLC has warned me of an impending collision (normally when I am coming up on someone turning), but never applied the brakes yet. It never had to. (I have had a lot of false alarms too, but that is something different).
However, I have seen a similar system work in my wife's Toyota RAV4. The breaking is hard and sudden and definitely wakes you up!

I was driving in Stuttgart to drop off my car at the end of EDP when the collision system was activated by a Porsche cutting directly in front of me, then hitting the brakes to stop at an up coming red light. I was already braking for the red light and because I saw the Porsche fast approaching from behind me, in the left lane that was merging into my lane just prior to the red light. But the car decided I was not stopping fast enough and the collision avoidance applied the breaks, HARD. It was very disconcerting, but I can attest that the collision avoidance works
