I'm looking for suggestions for how to protect the exterior of my new GLC without breaking the bank. I'll admit, I'm not so good about caring for my vehicles and I'm trying to get better. Is there a clear coating I should use? Or an after-market product to look into? Or anything to avoid? I skipped Mercedes' clear coat package as it's way overpriced IMO.

A few factors: I park outside due to lack of garage space . Lots of pollen, tree sap, hard water, dirt, morning dew water, etc. I also don't wash the car at home due to drought regulations (thanks CA). The local hand wash car wash runs me around $30 plus tip and I try to go every few weeks. When I lived in LA, it was a lot more economical to go to the car wash once/week as the price was half what I pay now. Lastly, this is a lease so I don't want to spend a ton of money when I'm just going to return it but I dislike the hard water spots that build up over time.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I use CQuartzUK 3.0. I did two coats and then I use Hydrosilex as sacrificial coat. This works really well. Super easy to keep clean and wash.

Since you park outside I highly recommend this setup.

I used many different waxes in the past. Most of them do a good job. However, I think Collinite is one of the best, easy to apply and wipe off. The shine is OK and it last vey long time.
You van get it on Amazon for @18.92. The bottle will last you a few years. Oh, and do not be turned off by the label, it works great on cars! I speak from experience.

Just read that you are leasing. Then do one coat of CQUK 3.0. Self cleaning property and easy maintenance wash isnworth every penny.
